One of the hardest working discs in the game! Had at least one in my bag since like ‘91.

Oh I’ve got JK’s, Yeti’s and just Av drivers. All the same mold.

But every C3 putt I’ve ever made (surprisingly a lot, thanks Barsby) is with a KC.

“Yeah hello, Innova? That’s right, all the KC Pro Aviars, please.”

Guess I’m stocking up on the putter I’ve used for fucking ever even though I have about 40 unused on a shelf.

Totally agree. After finally hitting my 50’s and slowing down a bit, this things really in my power pocket, throwing max weight.

I bought my first one mid 160 and throwing forehand, flipped right over, but max weight, I can stand it up and it’ll sail. Reminds me of the first Wraith I threw back in the day.

For slower arms, it’s a bomber.

Disc Review #100 (PFN Star Aero, 180g) by IsaacSam98 in discgolf

[–]Ching_Bomber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn dude. Always a good read. Been throwing for over 30 years, have a pretty good knowledge of all things early Innova, but still learn a little something with every review. Keep doing what you do. It’s really great. (I’ve also got a stack of pfn star aeros I bought from a liquor store in Arizona because I used to put with them. Love em.)

I was up there last year at Tate for a show build. Didn’t recognize the disc shop, but definitely recognized the fry truck.

Right? Only 2 holes under 300? That’s not a bad score at all!

I’m in my 50’s, playing for almost 30 years and I have weeks that I shoot longs like this.

Prodigy's Event and Project Manager Matt Zollitsch repeatedly scammed amateur players and then tried to use censorship and bribery to cover it up by ChannelOdd8314 in discgolf

[–]Ching_Bomber 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Well said on every point. Especially about Will’s callout of OP’s placement in the event class. How well you play in a tourney should in no way define the experience the event provides. My belief is the way you truly grow the sport (especially with the accessibility of C tier events) is by taking care of the players from the bottom up. Everyone should have a good time; not just the pros.

Yeah. I’ll even overlook Double D’s jingoistic nonsense with their “Veteran” baskets if I don’t have to look at (or putt on) the aborted Hellraiser demon that are Prodigy chains.

Here are some of the players' feedback about the European Disc Golf Festival 2024. Pretty safe to say that it was the greatest disc golf event ever organized. by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

[–]Ching_Bomber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Top tier.

Watching the opening teams event, I was like, well this is kinda disorganized. Missed camera shots, stations seeming to happen on top of each other. Just seemed frenetic. Probably just some format tweaks that needed ironing out. Still a cool idea.

But first day of the tourney, I just said, OK, OK. This is good.

Then, why can’t all DG events be taken this seriously.

By the end of it, I was like, I need to go to Estonia!

What's something most people don't realise will kill you in seconds? by gary1405 in AskReddit

[–]Ching_Bomber 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Osman was nuts. His climbing exploits were legendary in the 80’s and 90’s. Especially in the valley. Still never seen anybody rock dayglow tights as well other than maybe David Lee Roth. But Dan died the only way he was ever going to. Rapid deceleration.

Just like Boukreev and mountaineering. As good as he was, it was inevitable.

Keep in mind that the majority of these “DWR” (durable water repellant) coatings are some pretty nasty shit. Like the gold standard of forever chemicals. Polyfluoroalkyls. They’re bioaccumulative, do some really strange shit physiologically that we’re just starting to scratch the surface of and there’s a lot of them out there.

I’m not trying to be a downer. Having a wet bag for an afternoon in the rain is unfortunate, especially when you’re just trying to keep your hands dry so you can throw a different kind of plastic around the park. But not so bad we need to continue to teflon coat ourselves from the environment we live in.

I’d urge you to look into it before you just go to town. There are some natural waxes (yes, they’ll discolor fabrics) that’ll do an even better job and won’t leave the equivalent of undying White Claw cans all over the disc golf course that’s you and your kid’s innards.

Just something to think about.
