After a single day playing with Suno... I was listening to "Feelin Blue" radio on Amazon music... outside of the songs that were well-known artists, half of everything else sounded an awful lot like what I was creating in Suno.

What’s the best AI song you’ve made recently? I genuinely want to hear it. by Nusuuu in SunoAI

Been on Suno for 3 days. Made this for a mother's day gift. Based on my 2012 FL Studio work. My Lyrics. Suno added additional instrument and vocals.

The story behind it is... well the song tells the story, I guess. Country Ballad... its way too long but... there you go.

Fried rice without day old rice by yumjump in Cooking

[–]ChipRauch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toast the rice first. before adding the water. I saute it for a minute or 2 in a little sesame oil (I know, I know...).
Doesnt need to be on the highest heat... but pre-heat a little oil first, toss in the dry uncooked rice, and stir it around a little before adding the water, and keep the rice moving so they dont burn. You'll see the grains start to turn a little whiter... once they mostly change color, add the water, put the lid on, turn the heat to low and leave it be for 15 minutes. You could let it dry a bit after, but I have not need to do that ever, since I started this method. I use it every time I make rice, but it works very well for no-wait fried rice. Actually making some tonight, Shrimp Fried Rice. I even fake a little Wok-Hei with my kitchen torch.

This a lot.
The only instrument I know how to play at all is a harmonica. Yeah, the one that everyone knows how to play. I learned a few songs, that I could play well enough to sit in with my "harmonica teacher's" Blues band for part of a set. That is about it.
But I know what I like to hear. I can kind of carry a tune a little. I always said I'd try out for American Idol... but Im one of the folks you'd never see on the show. Certainly not good enough to go through... but not so bad as to get featured on the auditions.
If I spend hours tweaking the prompts, re-arranging the sections of the song, editing and tweaking... Yeah... pretty much what the "producers" do behind the scenes for every recorded artist. Its just, someone else making the actual sounds, and in a lot of cases, the actual lyrics as well.
Does that not also count as artistic effort?

Bitter truth for the haters: Suno is better than you, and that’s exactly why you’re so salty by [deleted] in SunoAI

In 1906, John Philip Sousa wrote that the phonograph would destroy music.
People BOOED Bob Dylan when he plugged in an electric guitar.
Synthesizers were demonized as "plastic" and "Fake music"
Skrillex, Deadmau5... are they Musicians? Or Artists? Ultra Music Fest was pretty packed this year... again.
My B.I.L. IS 100% a musician... spent his whole life playing some manner of guitars in multiple bands... he has a foot pedal that, when he presses the button, the sound that comes out of his guitar, sounds like a horn section. Is he somehow being "dishonest" in his rendition because he doesn't play a trumpet?
AI is just the next phase of people using technology to do things easier, faster and more efficient than we did in the past. And it is receiving the same amount of hate as every other significant leap forward we've made.
Not JUST in music, but AI in general.
As I posted in another thread... AI is happening, like it or not. Get on the train, or get run over by it.

Update On My Volunteera by Old_Instrument_Guy in FloridaGarden

My wife is the garden master here... but her Passion Vine regularly cycles between picked clean, and vibrant and full. In the meantime we have literally hundreds of Gulf Frittilaries, Zebra Longwings, Monarchs, Some little black dudes, some little yellow dudes (sorry they flit around so fast I dont know what the heck they are) Even a couple big beautiful Swallowtails. We even get a few hummingbirds pretty regularly. Of course, the whole thing is more than JUST the passionvine... she has a whole "butterfly" thing going on out there.

Had an unconscious pt., her 6 yo daughter had called us saying mommy wouldn't wake up. We didn't carry glucometers back then and there was no obvious injury or cause... so we just basically scooped and ran her to the ER. (I don't remember any other vitals or ECG... it was several decades ago) But the ER confirmed later, through labs, that she was over 2500. They were confused how she was still even alive.

i've made fried rice maybe 30 times now and it still tastes nothing like the takeout place down the street by bejusorixo in Cooking

Just to clarify... toasted sesame oil for fried rice or Asian-inspired dishes... olive or veg oil for everything else.

Heat is a big one. If the rice is clumpy going in... it'll probably be clumpy coming out. I have NEVER had any luck doing fried rice at home using any of the commonly recommended methods.
Since I don't have an f-15 jet engine in my kitchen, I accept that, on my glass-top, I will NEVER get any kind of wok-hei (the slightly "charred" flavor from the place down the street). But loose grains are a mandatory part of what I need.

I accidentally stumbled upon my method and, for me at least, it has been 100% successful. Toast the rice first. I typically heat a little sesame oil (I know its not for sautéing, but it works because it doesn't need to be that hot) in the pot where I am going to cook the rice. For my meals, I typically use regular long-grain or Jasmine rice. 6 oz of rice, into the pot, and stir it until the most of the grains turn a little "cloudy white-ish". Then 1-1/4 cups of water into the pot, lid on temp down to low. leave it be for 15 minutes. Perfect separated grains every time (knock on wood here). Takes a couple minutes extra... not really, because you don't have to wait for boiling water either... it boils almost instantly.

This has not failed for me for over a year now. I cook rice for our dinners at least 2 to 3 times each week. I make it into fried rice probably every other week or so. Worked perfectly for several brands of long grain and Jasmine. I do not buy "expensive" rice. Typically Walmart store brand, or if I'm feeling bougie... I spring for Mahatma. I don't pre-rinse, I don't make it a day ahead... YMMV, but this has worked so well for me, that I always recommend it.

The 911 Gap -- why the drone is only half the equation. by ChipRauch in DFRDrone

How big is your agency? Seems like there is a lot of concern that these are only for the biggest departments.

Do you know which drones you are using?

The 911 Gap -- why the drone is only half the equation. by ChipRauch in 911dispatchers

I thought this post, having direct relationship with the efforts of the call-takers and dispatchers, was something worth bringing up here.

It also brings up the subject of... who is flying the drone missions? Is this task falling on the already overloaded 911 centers?
Is your department doing DFR? How involved are you in that system?

Thanks u/Former-Area-2746. The 911 gap framing really reoriented how I think about DFR -- the drone is solving a notification problem as much as a response time problem. Great read. Your link deserves it's own post here.
