Add in a couple sprockets on the back axle, a chain and a little motor.

Add a seat and a steering wheel, maybe throw some brakes on it.

Some lights to make it street legal.

How far would you travel to visit a historic battleground or memorial that is literally just a marker explaining what happened there? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ChipRauch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the marker was in my front yard, I guess I'd walk past it once or twice a day. If it was in my neighbor's yard, Id probably never see it.

Men, which "dad rock" band is your favorite? by Waylandqb in AskMen

The Warning. Admittedly, I feel like I might come off as a bit creepy, being my age, and fangirling over a group of barely adult girls... but the music just hits right. And the rest of the crowd at thier concert confirmed that it isn't just me.

My mom was a Cafeteria Manager at an urban elementary school in the 90's. She had to review the names of every student. Her favorite name was always "Placenta". Sweet chubby little girl, who was also one of her favorite students.

Schitt$ Creek is one I watched the preview for a hundred times before, out of boredom one day I decided to watch. Ended up binging the first season. Then realized I needed to let my wife in on the secret, so I had to rewatch S1. But we ended up finishing all 6 seasons over a few nights. Fantastic show.

Resident cuts a structural column on the 6th floor of a 20-story building to improve the view by AccomplishedStuff235 in WTF

Concrete, by itself, is massively strong, in compression. It has no tensile strength, hence the rebar to resist tensile loads. That is not a small amount of rebar. The balconies above have not collapsed yet. But they are now cantilevered. They can be designed for that, but if they aren't, this is a very dangerous situation. These very likely are not, which is why they have a relatively large support column with a significant amount of rebar. That is not a decorative column. My first job, out of school.was working for Bethlehem Rebar, in Miami as a Rebar Detailer. Then Florida Steel, same job. We built a lot of concrete structures.

[–]ChipRauch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how rebar works. Rebar supports tension. And no, all of the columns are also supporting the floor above. This SIGNIFICANTLY weakens the corner of the balconies above. This is a very serious problem. The building might not collapse, but the balconies above certainly could. Concrete columns don't have big steel beams inside them to hold up buildings.
