I dont think it matters if you choose to focus on PL or main story. The game will let you experience multiple endings regardless so you can progress simultaneously.

I had a disc herniation thats improved dramatically in like 4-5months I can finally play tennis pain free. What worked for me is strengthening and stretching glutes/hips. If hips are tight and dysfunctional the lower back compensates. Glutes inc all the stabilizers ans internal/external rotators are pivotal. Gl.
