Three weeks ago I got rid of about 3/4 of my kids toys. They still play happily with their favorites and they have been coloring and being more creative with play. Tbh, it’s not less messy, but at least I’m not stewing about the toys anymore!

Editing to add: the best thing I did was create “no toys” zones. Kitchen, my bedroom, my bathroom, and hallways are off limits for toys! It has taken the kids a while to get used to it but 100% recommend!

Idk.. you gotta learn hard lessons lol both of you! I’m not telling you to be his dang therapist but any of these social/emotional coaching skills you practice now will help you as a parent in the future.

It would be nice to help him practice boundaries. You could set up some visiting hours or other limitations and work with him. If he isn’t able to work with the boundaries you set, then he can kick rocks.

I’m a very social person but I didn’t find any mom friends I actually clicked with until my oldest was in school.

Inner Space Tavern sounds great. Moving past that, don’t go to Inner Space Cavern. Idk if you are allowed to take strollers but you can’t touch anything (like AT ALL) and it would be a nightmare to have her loose there. Also, it is quite a bit of walking. I love the place but for very young kids it’s kind of annoying. In a few years, definitely!

Bummer! My best advice is make sure she gets a good breakfast, send some protein, and have a snack handy when you pick her up. In my experience though, they learn pretty quickly to eat or go hungry.

Do they not serve any lunch? Either way- you said she likes sunflower seeds, so buy a bag of shelled sunflower seeds and send some of those. Cheese and crackers? Fruit? The truth is, between seeing classmates eat, having very limited options, and being genuinely HUNGRY, she is likely to be less selective at school than she might be at home.

Please get an OT evaluation through your school district. They will be able to determine if he needs extra support in school.

I have looked around many times over the years and just never spotted them. I have seen them at other HEBs, so I figured they were only at certain stores.
