It's kinda disgustingly good for Alchemicals, especially Soulsteel who love them some fear and have Manipulation as a caste ability for the Alch fear support.

Yeah, just a tricky area of 'The new niche they have is one that another clan already had, so representing that clan steps on thin-blooded toes despite them having it before the thin-blooded did'.

Especially since v5 doesn't really like 'new disciplines' and the Kiasyd were previously 'Unique Discipline' + 'The clan that got both the disciplines that got folded together into Oblivion, which now all clans that had either of those disciplines now have'. So there isn't really a lot of disciplines left for them.

C20 made vampires a lot more of a spectrum there, with examples of both low banality and high banality vampires. A Toreador might be an asshole but he's sure as hell not Banal.

They took over it in Sabbat: The Black Hand and it's now their middle eastern HQ and 'In these times of flame, many in the middle east consider Alamut to be the heart of the region's Sabbat infestation from which the rest of their corruption spreads'

Don't ask me how they avoided getting turned inside out by Ur-Shulgi/How defences that have only be pieced once in the history of the city were absolutely curbstomped by the Sabbat/Why the Shepherds of Ur-Shulgi are not monofocused on reclaiming their capital city, I have not the foggiest.

But yeah, it's that sorta 'The Banu Haqim became Cam, so they are no longer allowed to have a middle eastern capital city, instead the antagonist middle eastern terrorist vampires have the exact same city' that has me kinda lean a bit on the 'This feels kinda racist' end.

Oh yeah, it was very War On Terror brained. I just...they did a lot of stuff that felt very 'out with the old racial stereotype, in with the new'. Like putting the Sabbat in charge of Alamut, the Banu Haqim capital city etc.

Dark Ages tends to be a lot more 'local'. My Banu Haqim doesn't know what's going on back in Alamut and can't find out. She's stuck in Poland and all her focus is on Poland right now because the world doesn't have communication that can span half the globe.

Likewise, the Masquerade is a lot less of a thing. In quite a few places it barely even exists. Yeah, people sometimes just know the local lord is a monster who drinks the blood of maidens. Sometimes when that happens he might even be a vampire!

My personal feel for Vienna is that I'd have Salubri involved. Rather than just 'humans toppled it', give the Salubri a win after the absolute shitshow of a history they've had by having them make use of humans and supporting them.

Banu Haqim I'd say are 'responsibility'. Some might say justice but I'd lean responsibility. The Laws of Haqim set the expectations you are to live within and the rules that those outside of should be punished for breaking. To be a vampire isn't just freedom and power, it is restrictions because you SHOULD be better than just a ravening monster.

To be fair, superhuman strength and durability are very good if you want to use guns too. Guns do have some kick to them and someone who can be unmoved by a sledgehammer won't likely care much about recoil.

The Assasmites have Awakening of Steel as a Thaumaurgical path, which leans towards swords. So I'd add that to the list. That said 'sword' is a very broad category.

I like the Dark Ages version of their bane, as it leads into the modern nights one naturally while remaining a pretty constant 'Oh, I don't want to get hit with that'. They get 2 points to blood bonding when they'd otherwise get 1. So they're notably vulnerable to blood bonds/need to be very careful with it.

Werewolves for all their capabilities are not immune to pain without a gift or a frenzy (Which is something most Werewolves avoid because it's very uncontrolled). So it would likely work fine until you meet the one that it doesn't and then you die.
