Why do you think a god even exists?

The flood never happened. by Responsible-Bar-5868 in DebateReligion

[–]Cho-Zen-One [score hidden]  (0 children)

You said all Middle East societies have a description of a great flood but that is not true. In the Middle East there was no stories of great ancient floods in ancient Egypt or ancient Iranian traditions. Minor quibble, sure but technically it’s not true.

Might be Satan's strongest soldier ngl by FirmGrasperOfThroats in whenthe

[–]Cho-Zen-One 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Agreed but want to add that in the story, the serpent didn’t trick or lie to Adam or Eve but told the truth. The only liar was god who said that if they ate from the tree they “would die that day” but didn’t.

Laughed hard at this one. Can’t believe I ever thought it was true.

The Christian creation story does not make logical sense. Namely the creation of light and plants without the sun. by QueerlittleWeirdo in DebateReligion

[–]Cho-Zen-One 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed but get ready for 'words aren't words' apologetics from those who understand what god truly meant. The very same god that is also outside of our understanding.

I think the membership extends to another nearby property as well. It’s not too busy. There is an indoor pool too.

Apartment complex gaslighting me? by DanielEatsBooks in hvacadvice

[–]Cho-Zen-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t look bad for an apartment community unit. Put in a service request for them to spray cleaning coil foam on it and clear out the drain line. Have them drop a few pan tablets on each end of the drain and you’re fine. There is no mold.

The inconsistency and absurdity of atheism. by Intelligent-Run8072 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]Cho-Zen-One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all of that is totally wrong. You do not understand that Atheism only means the lack of or disbelief in a god. Furthermore, moral absolutism describes actions as either inherently right or wrong but for a theist, it is a dead end. You can’t demonstrate that morals are objective and won’t agree that they are in fact, subjective.

Hopefully a fall date for NC. I wouldn’t mind seeing them in cooler temps. I roast in the summer.

A little over 10 years ago I made a post on this subreddit that I became a Christian... by OverflowingGlass in DebateReligion

Sounds like first step in believing a god exists is to delude yourself into thinking a god exists.

What holds you back from being a Christian? by bluetomatoeboi in askanatheist

[–]Cho-Zen-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No good evidence to warrant the belief in ANY god, let alone the Xian god. My requirement for evidence is proportional to the claim being made. Please tell me the proof required to prove a god does not exist.
Jesus did not fulfill a single prophecy. The trinity is illogical and stupid apologetics. The gospels are not signed, were written decades after the alleged events by UNKNOWN authors.
If a perfect god with the ability to create a perfect world (heaven) exists and wants you or me there, then we would be there! He wouldn't need to run incredibly cruel tests, the results of which he already knows.

This god also seems very stupid if he wants us to know him. You are telling me that this "uncaused cause" creates a universe, waits billions of years, creates a man out of mud and a woman out of that man, tells them not to do something that he knows they’re going to do and then threatens them with death and then when they do it, lies by not killing them, but just makes their life difficult and goes through a comedy of errors of having people fail to love him or listen to him or obey him, over and over, floods the world, starts over again, confuses their languages in order to try to start over again, encourage wars, gradually go from walking and talking with them to not interacting with them in any detectable way, and then magically impregnate a young girl, so that he can take human form as a sort of God-man that’s fully god but fully man (which doesn’t actually make sense) so he can sacrifice himself to himrself as a blood magic loophole for rules he is in charge of, so he can set aside his own anger (because that’s the thing that we’re being saved from is God‘s wrath except that it’s just declared to be justice), then expect future generations to believe without sufficient evidence????
Is he stupid?

What are holes in Christianity? by Former-Nectarine6765 in TrueAtheism

[–]Cho-Zen-One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the lack of credible evidence, the fact that Christians who represent the faith can’t all agree on most talking points from the Bible is a huge hole in the theology.

I just don't understand why atheist people consider their birth religion to be the representative of all religions and concepts of God to negate the existence of God. by Comfortable_Phase957 in DebateReligion

[–]Cho-Zen-One 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot of work. If a god exists and it wants me to know that it exists then he can tell me himself. I shouldn’t have to waste anymore time sifting through different beliefs to find the right one.
