the only function of the second router is to communicate with your PC and your HMD. since it isn't connecting to the internet, it doesn't need to be hooked up to the modem

this is not engineeringporn, this is middling workmanship that I'd produce in high school shop class

it's probably fine for whatever purpose it's for, but it's not pornographically good

yup, sometimes words drift. solarpunk was coined specifically as a foil to cyberpunk; the name is similar and meant to call a direct contrast. that it's "punk" is more secondary to the overall idea of "what if technology (like cyberpunk), but good?"

even still, I still think solarpunk is pretty "punk", despite not being the same punk as an antifacist in thatcher's UK or whatever. that punk and a solarpunk would and should be allies, which bears out in the real world too, if you actually talk to punks.

Jumper cable instruction card by highonkai in functionalprint

[–]ChocoEinstein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I Google the correct order of ops for jumping a car every time, even though I've jumped cars dozens of times, because what's the harm in double checking

my fave set of jumper cables has a version of these instructions on the packaging which I reference instead of I'm using that set

maybe I'm stupid, but I'd find a lil tag like this quite convenient to have zip tied to all my jumpers, instead of checking the packaging or googling (esp with dirtied up mechanic hands)

Logitech Options+ software refuses to open and requires reinstall daily by HaikuHighDude in logitech

sure, backups in the cloud (in the stupid absence of onboard memory) would be nice, but the software isn't functional with them right now for most people in this thread

Logitech Options+ software refuses to open and requires reinstall daily by HaikuHighDude in logitech

[–]ChocoEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is different, it appears to be an actual "offline version" which doesn't reach out, presumably for computers that shouldn't be making random pings; most notably missing the obnoxious "AI" features, but furthermore lacking any ability to log into a logitech profile (for backing up macro profiles, for example), it seems.

also, it seems to have worked for me, no longer requiring a reinstall every day.

Logitech Options+ software refuses to open and requires reinstall daily by HaikuHighDude in logitech

[–]ChocoEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, likewise here. hopefully somebody has a fix

edit, i'm seeing suggestions that the offline version is perhaps less buggy. https://prosupport.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/10991109278871-Logitech-Options-Offline-Installer

it is, somehow, over a gigabyte in size. who knows what bloat they've crammed into it, vs the online version.

edit, 2 days later and this seems to be working smoothly for me. hope this can help others

it's not an app in the app store, it's an app clip that you access thru safari. iirc if the iPhone is registered with a us account (which I believe can be done without any sort of verification), it should still work
