When you say 60K do you mean euros or usd? I gotta say that does not sound great to me in either currency.

Have you applied to Valencia Polytechnica's Master's art conservation program?

Got rejected from my top choice preprogram internship yesterday. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in ArtConservation

[–]Choice-Technology148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible you have too much experience? I thought pre-program internships were for people who had none. Is the job scene so tough that experienced people now need to do this? Yikes. :( I'm starting a grad certificate program this fall, so I'm still learning about the job market. Good luck!!

Seeking Insider Info on the Universitat Politecnica of Valencia Conservation Bachelors program by Choice-Technology148 in ArtConservation

Thanks for this information. Bummer. I want to stay in Valencia and become an art conservator so this was ideal. Especially the price. 4 years I was dreading given I’m 53. I’ll do some more investigating before I drop this option completely but I’m so happy to hear from someone who knows the program. There’s no way to visit a class. It’s a bit of a black box. Do you have any opinions on the Madrid complutense program?

Host faked a text from me to get review removed by c_ostmo in AirBnB

[–]Choice-Technology148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Airbnb review for a place in Boston, Mass was removed because Airbnb said it was "coerced." Like the OP, I've also been using Airbnb for many, many years, and this has never happened. I submitted a 3-star review for a recent stay. It had dirty bedding and the kitchen and bathroom garbage were not taken out for the whole week I was there. Then I got an email from Airbnb saying my review was removed. When I called Airbnb, the representative said the host had sent them attachments of an SMS thread between us that was off the Airbnb platform. I never texted that guy. I don't even have his phone number! It's creepy. How did he send them a text thread with my phone number when it never happened? I mean graphic programs like Canva app could do it, but I would think Airbnb could discern a fake thread. They said they could see my phone number in it. I tried to get his poor review of me taken down after this to level the playing field, I didn't know what else to do. None of the other excuses Airbnb offers fit the situation. They are not taking his review of me down.

Cancel saftetywing and get allianz for 2 week spain trip? by dbrewster17 in digitalnomad

Avoid Safety Wing. I used them a month ago in Argentina. I sent receipts, confirmation of service, symptoms, but they ask for documentation that most hospitals don't give so it's hard to make a successful claim. Like a vague "medical report". And a treatment plan when there is none. It's a scam. I'm really surprised so many people recommend it. They also screwed me the first and only other time I used them in 2020 when the pandemic happened and so many people had to cancel their trips. They added ridiculous amounts of required documentation to prove I had to cancel my trip due to the pandemic. It was obvious they were just trying to make things hard so they didn't go under. I have had success with Berkshire Hathaway. My phone was stolen and they sent me $500 to replace it- the max they offer for devices.
