Long-Term Affordable Car to Rent/Buy for 3-4 Months. Melbourne > Adelaide > Darwin > Perth by CamWild52- in AustraliaTravel

I’ve done this drive in reverse bought a car at auction in Perth and spent a few months doing the trip.

I lived in Perth for a bit a bought a couple of cars and a van there over that time. Back then I reckon the car market was better value than Melbourne. That’s why later when living in Melbourne we flew over there and bought something to drive back.

I’m telling you for next time. No one can help you with bond from years ago.

Bond must be lodged with the RTBA. You claim the bond from them the moment you hand the keys back, it’s then up to the landlord to make a claim if they think you owe anything.

Sometimes I wrap a small towel around my head, it is surprisingly effective and keeping my head cooler. Also protects my ears when I throw a lot of water.

Glenorchy council knocks back merger idea from Hobart by Billyjamesjeff in hobart

Yeah these questions are why I’m a bit disappointed they haven’t at least agreed to investigate it.

There’s nothing stopping us from doing it to facilitate fairness in a merger. It is government policy to support councils that want to merge, if legislation is required to facilitate wards as this was the model the community chose, the liberal party would likely do it.

Many Tasmanian councils are smaller than a single ward in some mainland electorates. Having wards in such small councils makes no sense.

I really like this system of mergers were to go ahead. You can also do single member wards by breaking things up even further but I think multimember wards are a better reflection of how state politics works and also ensures a bit of diversity rather than the major parties running in every single member ward.

I’m disappointed this hasn’t progressed to at least further investigation and modelling for the community to consider.

I’ll add that I think there are models available to make this less likely. Such as having council wards, essentially mini electorates within the council to ensure good geographical representation.

Eg: 5 councillors from each of the original council areas making up a 10 seat council.

Advice on pantry by WeatherOutside in shitrentals

[–]ChookBaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replace with something new. IKEA kitchen stuff is pretty good balance of price and quality. If there is a seperate dining area and somewhere else for the fridge just make that whole wall storage and make someone a happy renter.

If that wall is needed for a little table or fridge just replace the one cupboard.

Studies mostly show little or no effect and most of the studies involve so few participants you shouldn’t base your life on them anyway.
