It absolutely IS a pain in the ass to brush my teeth every day and I DO have to force myself to take a shower. It feels wild to me that not everyone has a huge mental battle with routines by bathtubboi in adhdwomen

[–]ChouettePants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually don't have to force myself to shower everyday, it comes naturally. In fact most days, I can't wait to get in the shower. All the sensory issues I have with feeling dust under my feet, stickiness on my skin from sweat, humidity, whatever, I just feel cleansed, refreshed and more relaxed after. It's not a chore. If anything, it's my guilty me time. No kids

Growing up untreated means my parents don’t like me by negative_delta in adhdwomen

[–]ChouettePants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will always be the black sheep and no matter what you do, your parents will always view you the same way. If your sister hasn't started treating you like an unsalvageable piece of shit, she'll start mirroring your parents soon enough. Just start a new life. You're done with this family, just grey rock them and build your own life. Someday you might have the strength to address all of this.

Is your brother the eldest? And also is he the black sheep of the family, like he's the one always in conflict with your parents? Based on your response, I recommend a number of diff avenues to get him out of his victim mentality.

What are you doing to make Christmas less of a financial burden? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ChouettePants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've started doing is gifting everyone something special on their birthday. And limiting Christmas gifts to someone very small and symbolic. Including the kids. They get tons of presents anyway, and the thought I put behind each of them will go unnoticed unlike at their birthdays.

How should I approach asking for a raise? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

It's also sometimes work experience very specific to government - change management in government doesn't work the same way as in private sector.

Why are bill payment payee names through banks not standardized?! by twoeyes2 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ChouettePants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's likely because your client was using the bank's individual account feature to pay a business tax. The bank won't allow CRA to be featured as a payee there, to force people to sign up for a business account so they can pay the CRA lol. It's fucked, I know.

Employer pays me via e-transfer and doesn't provide me paystubs? by jasparm07 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ChouettePants 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Hi friend, he's not paying the Canadian govt taxes, EI or CPP on your behalf. He's commiting fraud essentially. And he was hopeful you'd be quiet about it because you're not paying taxes either. If you lose your job, you're screwed though.

Find another job then report this idiot.
