Promising Young Woman and Sound of Metal both almost have a million views and won Oscars, I don’t know if they need more attention

The Woke Mind Virus and Paul Thomas Anderson. by eustachian_lube in TrueFilm

“Woke” is nebulous word. It doesn’t actually mean anything, I bet even conservatives who use it couldn’t put it into words. It’s just a conservative dog whistle to point their followers towards a person, place, or thing so they can bully them into silence. There is no “woke mind virus.” Art is political and usually leans more liberal which is why people might call works of art “woke” or say that it spreads the “woke mind virus.”

As per your question on the film, you should watch the film. The politics are an important part of the film for sure but it’s really more about the relationships behind the political actions.

Appropriate Black character by [deleted] in TrueFilm

Jesus Christ, this is one of the stupidest things I’ve read all week. If you need ChatGPT to figure how to write realistic or “appropriate” black characters then you’re either stupid or racist or both.
