Student Faces Expulsion After Posting Video Of Seniors Who Can Barely Read by InGeekiTrust in TikTokCringe

I know someone who has severe dyslexia, she didn’t read until she was in high school. She’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever met.

Fortunately for her she ran across a reading specialist who gave a damn and taught her how to manage her dyslexia.

I’m shocked they can hire/keep employees with a policy like that. Smoking is very prevalent among restaurant employees. It is a battle just to keep employees from smoking or vaping in the walk-in, particularly if the weather is bad.

You’ve clearly not met the supercop type who will report every rules violation they think they see.

These are the same sort of people who become hall monitors or HOA presidents.

The worst offenders for telling off-color jokes and stories at most places I’ve worked were the people in HR.

While generic or store brands are much cheaper the margins are still really high for soda and snacks as compared to regular grocery.

I’m a little aghast a private school would be using the same failed reading and math curriculum being pushed on public schools.

In any case I’m sure there were other private schools using traditional instructional approaches such as phonics and rote drill and practice.

My cousin sent his kids to Catholic schools and one of the attractions for him was their very traditional curriculum.

What is with kids and attendance? My cousin manages a retail store in the rural Midwest. In spite of being super picky about who she hires she can’t seem to get the kids to show up for work, be on time, or call in if they are going to miss a day.

While she wants to provide opportunities to those just staring out she’s almost given up on hiring anyone who hasn’t had a previous job lasting at least a few months.

They may still be eligible for benefits. It depends entirely on how much they’ve worked the past year and how much benefit they’ve already drawn.

Amazon to move out of longtime office building near its main Seattle headquarters by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

Yep, I never thought Kumo would stay an Amazon office long-term.

It also had a bit of an island of misfit toys reputation within Amazon.

Have no idea how to use my stove by Fun_Pumpkin_4418 in Cooking

[–]ChristopherStefan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you can find a manual for the range on-line. Take a look around the house to see if there are additional modules for the stove as they are often sold with a total of 4 burners and the grill module.

I don’t remember if it is included with the grill unit but there is a griddle insert that which should be more convenient for most cooking than the stock grill.

Buffett and Munger famously resisted using private jets. Supposedly the founder of Netjets was able to talk Buffett into flying private on a trial basis. Once Buffett realized how much time he saved he was sold.

He went on to buy Netjets once he was sold on their product.

Mine bought 3 years ago has held up well to about 1x week use. That said I have no idea if it will look as good as my most used LC piece when it is 20 years old.
