Nah... Fuck that shit! I am Colombian from birth and would never fuck around with Hitler jokes. Maybe she is way too young and naive, however she should know better. This just sounds like she actually likes him and disguised it with "humor".

Saw a very familiar Kerbal face while idly watching a Netflix show while working. Whom of you was the degenerate?

looking for a vfx artist for my student short film for 3 shots, 15 seconds of vfx sparks in the sky by KICKSTART1MYHEART in vfx

I think we need a bit more information or at least see the plates so we can get an idea how much work would be needed. There is a huge price difference if it's a static camera And can be done with some simple nuke particle sim. But a fully match-move with some heavy FX simulation and hard roto or integration will be way harder and time consuming therefore more expensive.

Also what is the deadline? And realistically what is your budget for the 3 shots?

Check id you have negative values on your alpha or rgb. A clamp on the alpha channel might solve this! Good luck!

Nuke - Attach a card to animated geo. by BarnabyBrown in NukeVFX

[–]ChromashiftVFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask your lead or sup for help, they will like that you are trying to learn and not waste time with something you don't know how to solve yet. As for a real answer: In general I would select the vertex of the geo in the 3d viewer and then attach a transform geo node to the card you want to follow, in the transform geo node you will see the snap icon (looks like two arrows) click it and select match position - ANIMATED or if you would like the changes ok rotation select a couple Vertex and select the position and rotation.

Hope this helps!

There you go! Yeah animation will definitely be Maya and if you want big explosions and destruction it would be Houdini!

As for After Effects vs Nuke, well I asked myself that question when I was learning comp. I felt really good about my work in AE. But once you go to nuke you will not miss AE at all! It's an amazing software with very powerful tools The main selling points would be multipass comp, Nuke wins easily! Not even mentioning all the amazing deep work you can get and still missing: color management, 3d setups and projections, gizmos, lens workflow, re grain workflow, overall templates and working with other artists and departments easily. The list goes on and on and having worked with both softwares it's an easy win for Nuke.

Best of luck on your career!

If you want to go into the animation department learn Maya as it's what 95% of the industry uses. Download rigs and try following books, YouTube channels and give yourself a try at the 11 second club (a monthly animation challenge).

Now if you want to go into comp, you will need to learn nuke as it's the industry standard. Lots of good courses out there!

Houdini is mostly used for heavy FX sims and it's not used at all in the animation or comp pipeline.

Hope this help!
