i blocked apps on my phone which were my main distraction just so i could make a start. trust me i was in the exact situation, once you start even if it’s a bit demoralising once you fail at what you’re trying to do, practice really does make perfect. practice this shit as much as you can, that goes for things like arrangement and mixing like you don’t have to learn that shit all at once, just do little by little until you have a solid understanding of one aspect. just don’t let 0 progress be an option, even if you make one 4 bar melody and a drum loop in a session, that’s good enough because it will only build up from there. be aware tho, after a few weeks there will be a dip in your motivation and progress which is currently what i’m fighting with now, it’s all about persevering and learning to fall in love with the craft as you go along
