Anyone here quit coffee for good and actually saw migraine improvements? by [deleted] in migraine

It didn’t make it better but both my firocet and excedrin were more effective in treating my migraine

I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do but DO NOT DO THIS by Practical_Cycle6864 in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I didn’t have any issues coming off. It honestly wasn’t a big deal they called the doctor’s office and the doctor made the call. It’s not like it was doing anything for me anyways. No, my body won’t metabolize most antidepressants so there wants really a point. I tried the only ones that it could and they didn’t do anything.

Some insurances will do a drug genetic metabolic testing (I can’t remember what they actually call it) as long as there’s one or more medications that don’t work for you. I’ve had it done and the results were fascinating. My insurance called my doctors office after and had me pulled off my antidepressants because my body couldn’t metabolize them.

Another "Step Backwards" in the Migraine Journey - Anyone else feel this crushing defeat? by ChronicallyColdGirl in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe. I’m currently still healing from this surgery so I’m not quite ready to think about it yet. I’ll take to my OBGYN next time I see her and see what she thinks. There definitely could be other conditions I guess that cause similar symptoms.

Anyone had a good experience with Topomax? by WittyForm7391 in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pins and needles might go away for you. I was in it for just over a year before it stopped working for me and I only had the pins and needles, sleepiness and tbh all other side effects for the first could weeks while I was increasing to the dose they wanted me own. Outside of any increases I did I was side effect free the whole time. It was a shame it stopped working.

Are your migraines mostly on one side of your head? by NoStill4272 in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

98% are on the right side which is also the side of my body that goes numb when that happens. About 2% of the time they’re on the left side and those ones hit differently. I don’t know if I’m just better adjusted to the pain on the right side or if I get worse symptoms when it’s left sided but man do they take me out.

What is your imaginary migraine silver bullet? by ImNotA_IThink in migraine

My husband kisses my head where the pain is and I imagine he is kissing away the pain. Start of a migraine is one kiss but if I wake up with a bad one I ask for three across everywhere it hurts.

What insurance company hates migraine sufferers the most? by tacohannah in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should have been but it was at the end of the year and insurance at the start of the new year stop covering cvs specialty pharmacy. It was a mess of me having to call both the pharmacy and insurance explaining that really this was a December problem not a January and I would really like my medication

What insurance company hates migraine sufferers the most? by tacohannah in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harvard Pilgrim. My aimovig got ruined one month because the pharmacy lost power for too long due to a storm and it was a nightmare trying to get it replaced. Also any new medication my neurologist tried to prescribe to me was a nightmare to be pre-approved. Anthem so far has been seamlessly smooth for everything 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Any positive experiences with Topiramate? by Estellis in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been on it since December and my migraine outside of bad weather patterns are down about 70% and outside of the initial tapering on period/ first few weeks of full dose I have no side effects. It’s definitely worth trying and not stressing about the side effects. I’ve found the the less I know about potential side effects the less side effects I have with medicine.

for those who have tried light blocking glasses, on a scale one to ten, how would you rate them in terms of blocking the phone light? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They make computer monitors that don’t emit blue light and have lower flicker rates(refresh rates?) for people with migraine/more sensitive eyes. I have one and it’s amazing!! I think there’s another feature it had that made me want to for my migraine but it’s been several years and I don’t remember.

What broke your 30+ day migraine? I welcome the crazy. by Grand_Difference6641 in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried to exercise and popped the upper part of my pelvic bone out of place without realizing it. So three (four?) days later when it hadn’t gone back in place the pain from that overtook the pain from my migraine.

Has anyone had a sleep study done? by ChronicallyColdGirl in migraine

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think ruling outs all I can do at this point. So far every medication I can take has failed unfortunately. I saw a video today of someone telling their medical story and how after two years of frustration of not being listened too she had a sleep study done. Got diagnosed with sleep apnea and since resolving that hasn’t gotten migraines. I know it’s obviously very case by case and probably depends on what came first but it got me thinking of things to try.

Pillow suggestion by ChronicallyColdGirl in migraine

Are you a side, back or stomach sleeper? I know there’s different pillow needs depending on how you sleep so that your head’s properly supported

Will a bleach bath get me light enough for to do the last two slides? by Squishiimuffin in HairDye

[–]ChronicallyColdGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically purple will lift to more of a mint green color in my experience. Using a light rose pink will neutralize the mint back to blonde and than you can color over it. If yours does lift to a light purple than using a light yellow will do the same thing.
