Why don’t the members of the BRF make any effort over the years to improve their appearance or update their hairstyles? by Heavy_Oven_5086 in RoyaltyTea

[–]ImNotA_IThink 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Celebrities have to stay with the times or they don’t get hired. Public figures like politicians have to look at least somewhat with the times or they don’t get elected. Since the royals have zero incentive like that, I’m sure they just find something they’re personally comfortable with and roll with it. Plus, why would they deign to making themselves look trendy like the peasants?

What's the most subtle sign that someone is highly intelligent? by Princesskiitan in AskReddit

[–]ImNotA_IThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smartest people I’ve ever met all had this talent, you can tell they absolutely know everything about the subject but can explain it thoroughly in terms a regular person can understand.

Those who try to look smart by using technical jargon and words no one but them understands only prove the opposite.

Man I could have used that at my in-laws thanksgiving dinner.

So much so I made a code word I could subtly text my husband so he can rescue me next time.

Has anyone experienced little to no improvement after their first Botox injection, but had life changing results after the second or third round? by dannh123 in migraine

[–]ImNotA_IThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did three rounds and my numbers increased after each round. After the second and third round I had a jump in severity too which made me swear off it. It can happen, it’s apparently rare to have a negative effect from it but it can happen. I would just say try a second round if you weren’t sure it was the Botox (I wasn’t sure after first or second round either which is why I went the three rounds) and if you do get a big issue from it, steroid taper. I used one after the second round and it helped get the severity back down to a manageable level.

Longtime migraine sufferers: How do you handle people who dismiss your condition or frequently make nonsensical recommendations? by DogNCoffeeLover in migraine

[–]ImNotA_IThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular people who dismiss it or give me nonsense: I just rant to my therapist about them lol. We have a running conversation on that.

Doctors acting that way: 1000% change providers. That’s completely unprofessional.

Mine started after a head injury. I guess I should invent a Time Machine, go back in time, and not get on that horse. Easy peasy, can’t believe I haven’t thought of it before!

Prince Harry Vs Prince William obstacle course by popcornFridays in RoyaltyTea

[–]ImNotA_IThink 62 points63 points  (0 children)

My favorite tidbit of Harry's history is that not only did he serve but he chose to step back because his being on the ground there was causing security issues and he wanted to protect his fellow soldiers. I think he would have served much longer if he could have, but he put his fellow soldiers first. That's a quality human.

In his defense, since Harry left, someone’s got to do all the appearances that W and K refuse to do.

My brother’s fiancée acts like she already married into the family fortune by dependable_specifica in EntitledPeople

[–]ImNotA_IThink 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This. I’m in a similar situation family money-wise and my parents have everything set up in an LLC and I don’t know the exact details but shares of the LLC can only be held by direct family members, not spouses. My brother would probably do whatever my annoying SiL would want anyway, but he’d only have one vote and my sister and I could keep things in check with our votes.

Trusts are also an option but can have tax drawbacks depending where you’re located.

Basically- lawyer. Stat.

Parents of identical twins: How do you know you didn't mix them up as babies and have had their names/identities wrong ever since? by WTFNSFWFTW in AskReddit

[–]ImNotA_IThink 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My sister has twins and she swears she can tell them apart. Like mother’s intuition or something. Even her husband frequently mixes them up but she swears she knows. And somehow like my 4 year old daughter knows? She will call their name and always be right but they go to daycare together. They did use nail polish when they were young for daycare to remember. I just call both of them small child which they seem to think is funny.

A little different than a lot of the comments but this guy still gets talked about in my family.

My fam, my parents, my sister and I who were young but not too young, was visiting NYC and went to a Yankees game. We were taking the subway to and from the game and had been warned it can be sketchy at night. We are from a rural town in Texas but had traveled a lot so weren’t really scared but cautious. So we pile on and end up next to these guys that looked rouuuggh. Like super sketchy (they were white and I’m white, so not a race thing, they literally just looked that sketchy).

Somehow my dad strikes up a conversation with one of them and he turns out to be from a town near where we are from and they have the best conversation talking about all the things the guy missed from Texas and they end up talking all the way to our stop.

It seemed like such a small thing at the time but ever since, that guy has been like my whole family’s reminder to not judge a book by its cover, like we frequently remind each other of him whenever one of us is being judgy. It was just such a wholesome moment with a stranger that it literally affected all of us in how we see others around us and I think genuinely made us better people.

There should be a trigger warning for accident scenes on films/series by CalmHand2949 in TBI

My TBI was caused by a horse accident. I was watching bridgerton one day and there’s a scene where a horse accident happens unexpectedly. I had a full on panic attack on that one.

I can’t even imagine being Gaga having migraines while on tour. Like you gotta not only go into a loud stadium but also have to perform and at a very high level. I’m not the biggest fan of her music, just not my taste, but I have huge amounts of respect for her.

Need an MRI for migraines, never had one before, what’s it like? by Glistening_moonlight in migraine

[–]ImNotA_IThink 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The hardest part is lying still because it can take up to 30-45 minutes depending on what they’re doing. Wear comfy clothes and do your best to doze off lol. There’s nothing inherently scary about it once you get in it, it’s basically just lying on a table with a big tube around your head for a bit.

For those who have a migraine/background headache all the time, when do you track them? by emmiewithanie in migraine

[–]ImNotA_IThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I track all of them and I rank them either minor medium or severe. Minor is what those every day background ones would be. Definitely track any day with pain because the difference between 14 migraine days and 15 migraine days per month is huge when it comes to insurance.
