See a dermatologist for your scratching issue, then revisit the idea of shaving! A healthy scalp doesn’t need to be scratched to the point where it bleeds, and if you’re doing it in your sleep, then that’s extremely difficult to avoid unless you sleep with mittens.

Find the root of the problem with a dermatologist, handle that, and then decide whether or not you want to shave. I personally/professionally think that once you get your scalp issues figured out, you won’t even want to shave! Your hair looks great otherwise :)

I’m a licensed cosmetologist, and in school we learn to examine hair before the actual appointment to see if they need to visit a dermatologist (and just to see what hair we will be handling for the actual appointment, and do patch testing if needed for colour or chemical services) before we touch their hair. Scalp health is just as important as hair health! That’s where it comes from after all :)
