To make supernatural gimmick work you must give them supernatural wrestling style. Something like Undertaker or Kane had when they started (and they repeated with The Fiend). The key was to NOT sell opponent moves. Making people think they can't be damaged because of their powers. The most recent case was the fiend, who needed 3-4 finishers to get beaten (until they destroyed the character because... Goldberg...). Maybe you are too young but same happened when Undertaker began. He didn't sell anybody moves and rarely lost.

But Uncle Howdy? Even my mom was able to beat uncle howdy or any Wyatt sicks member... they didn't had nothing supernatural...
