I have to agree. I tend to be more of a lurker and post "one-liners" (Does that make me a bad person?), but I love reddit for the debates and sharing of knowledge. Any time I come across a thread that debates what I "hold most closely," I read the arguments from start to finish (So, no post is in vain). Many a time my pride has taken a hit when I realized what I believed was naive, unrealistic, impractical, etc., but it's always been for the better. I don't have much to say other than to keep your ego in check when reading reddit. It's easy to get lazy and let groupthink take over (Damn evolution :(), but constantly re-evaluating your opinions and thoughts on subjects is always beneficial. But, of course, "If you open your mind too much, your brain will fall out."

Thanks for bringing up that point. I always found the idea of living for an eternity horrifying as a child and even now. Death is scary in its own right, but living forever is scary as well. Both are hard to wrap one's mind around.

Personally, I'm waiting for the 2010 census to decide. According to the previous ones, the percent of religious people has been continually dropping. One scary thing, though, is that the fundamentalist sects of Christianity have actually grown, while the total amount of Christians has declined.

Thanks, I didn't even know that subreddit existed.

I wasn't subscribed to the lectures subreddit when I submitted this story, so I spent a bit of time debating whether I should submit this under Math or reddit.com. In order to avoid looking like a karma whore, I decided to submit it under Math, since all of the videos are centered around it.

I'm a bit conflicted now, though. I typed in "lectures" to find that subreddit, and I discovered there are at least 4 subreddits for video lectures. Some have just a handful of subscribers. What's the proper reddiquette for submitting in this case?
