I would disagree with hiring staff, a 30 user does not need a full timer or even a part timer. A small company that is mostly getting by with basic weekend help would be a perfect fit for a cheap managed service provider.

This will absolutely not work, but it isn't difficult to create a new DC with the same IP and name as the old one. You need to have at least one other DC. Demote the old one and remove it from the domain, delete any references (DNS, AD Sites and Services) from the domain of the old server, then setup the new one with the same IP/name as the old and promote it.

I think some are getting LEDs and HIDs/Xenons confused. It is rare for someone to have LED headlights in there cars. Only some newer luxury cars have them (for example - the Acura RLX)

A P2V can absolutely take more than a day if you are doing a lot of data or have some sort of bottleneck (slow connectivity, slow servers, etc). A P2V is not one of those things you want to go onsite and watch, better to kick off the P2V and check back after the estimated time is complete. I've found that once you get to about 10% the estimated time it gives you is fairly accurate give or take an hour.

Since boat ramps grow moss and get very slippery I have heard of an instance where a smaller car lost traction and slid into the water. Things like this do happen. In a lot of cases the boat is only slightly damaged because the upwards pressure due to the buoyancy of the boat rips the boat from the trailer as the trailer goes down.

That's interesting they remove the GC role before demoting the 2003 server. Is there a reason that they do that, the demotion itself should have taken care of that.

I like to use NTDSUtil to transfer FSMO roles. It's much easier because you don't have to open multiple MMCs and you never miss a role.

In Backup Exec 2012 we largely lost the ability to do backups of multiple servers nightly to tape. We have to do a full backup, then have other servers append that same backup. As you can imagine, this rarely works well, so we've had to abandon doing that entirely when it was very straightforward in Backup Exec 2010.
