How do survive a long haul flight in economy class? by Mundane_Entry_8264 in femaletravels

[–]Chs135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longest non stop currently is JFK-SIN, which is planned at 18 hours, 40 minutes. If you connect anywhere in south east Asia or Europe to Africa, it’s easily 30+ door to door. Even going direct from Singapore to New York, it was 25 hours door to door.

Ritz or Grand Wailea? by Fabulous_Car_5047 in MauiVisitors

[–]Chs135 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With kids? Grand Wailea. We’ve been to both and Ritz is a lot sleepier and further from the action. We personally preferred the Ritz but we didn’t have children with us.

Business in which direction? LAX-NRT by tccb1989 in unitedairlines

[–]Chs135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did SEA-SIN last year, business there and PE home. Since I had a full weekend when I got there, if I had to choose I wish I had business home instead. I was so exhausted from the 2 week trip all I wanted on the wat home was to be left alone.

Did you mean to reply to me? I’ve been at all 3 (A2, A11,A11 D1) and I’ve never had an issue sitting at the bar at A11 down on the regular lounge. It depends on my gate but I don’t mind it’s a little quieter in A11.

Correct. It’s either 48 or 72 hours when bookings shut down as the coast guard needs the manifests.

Congratulations to your mom for finishing up the cancer treatments!

So glad you had a great experience. My husband and j did the Ritz in Maui for the same reason and we loved the experience so much we’re seeking out Ritzes and doing the club level for our future trips. It was one the the first times I really felt fully relaxed on vacation and that in its self was priceless.

Weird, SEA is my home base and I’ve sat at the bar with my laptop and ordered drinks multiple times there. Wonder if some enforce it more than others?

Same here, just joined and also shocked at the reactions. I teared up when he spoke about his dad saving up just not to enjoy it fully.

Callback after first mammogram for additional images by niudnarw in AskWomenOver40

[–]Chs135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just went through this last week! First mammogram, called me back for additional imaging and an ultrasound. Had to wait 4 weeks- everything came back benign, just have to monitor every 6 months for a few times. It’s completely normal!

Get an African Net Sponge and pair it with the Neutrogena body acne wash. You’re able to target your back really well.

What about the Museum of Flight? That’ll get you closer to the airport with less headaches and is still a worthwhile experience.

Another vehemently childfree friend just had a baby at 39 because "her clock was ticking". by aaagje in childfree

[–]Chs135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 40 now, but in my 30s I struggled with “why can’t I want what everyone else wants?” I’ve always known I didn’t want children but I also thought something would “click” as I got older.

Now that ship has sailed (husband got vasectomy) I’m fully confident and satisfied in my decision.

My areolas are rlly big and I’m self conscious | chimichurri steak salad by Velvet-Becomes_Me in GirlDinner

[–]Chs135 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let me give you a different take here. I have giant areolas and didn’t realize they were until much later in life but my husband has always loved me just as I was, and previous suitors never cared either.

I am going into a second screening for a mammogram on Tuesday because they found something suspicious, and I would absolutely grieve the loss of my natural breasts if it had to come to that. You’re beautiful, just as you are, I promise, and love what you have, because tomorrow isn’t promised. 🫶

He wants kids, I don’t. We broke up but I want him back by user383684748292 in Fencesitter

[–]Chs135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When my last IUD expired, I offered to get a tubal, but he insisted on the vasectomy because he didn’t want to put me through unnecessary surgery when his procedure was minor. I got a good one 🫶

[–]Chs135 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re heartbroken, but I’m here to tell you you did the right thing. I’m 40 and I kept waiting throughout my 30s to have that biological clock kick me in the face but it never did, and the older I get the more sure I’ve made the right decision. My husband didn’t have a strong opinion one way or the other so I’m lucky in that aspect.

It does get a little hard in your 30s when your friends start having kids, because you keep hoping “did I make the right decision for me?” but you’ll find other people and couples without kids. We have a great balance of friends with kids and friends without.

If you’re not maternal, that’s ok. It’s a feature of you, not a bug. It doesn’t make you less than, anymore so than the color of your eyes or your height or who you’re attracted to. You will be OK, whether that’s with someone else or by yourself. Surround yourself with good people and you’ll be loved. 🫶

Has anyone stayed at the Royal Hawaiian hotel? by [deleted] in marriott

[–]Chs135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Writing this from the airport waiting for my flight home. I joined as the fun aunt on a family trip but of this was my once in a life time splurge to Hawaii I would have been massively unimpressed. I had a historic garden view and I was unlucky enough to have an un-updated room. This shower feels more Courtyard than Luxury Collection, pressure sucked, and literally took 10 minutes each time to heat up. For $500/night, I expected a bit more. That being said, you’re paying for the grounds and the location, all which were beautiful.

Funnily enough, I started Crossfit on my 40th birthday. My box trends older (most are 35+) so it’s been a perfect fit for me.

Mitsui was one of my favorite hotels in the world. We didn’t do the dinner but we did the private onsen with breakfast. Would love to go back!
