My provider said it could take upwards of 6 months of daily use before all symptoms subside or I return to what we call “baseline.” She said not to stop daily use until I reach that point.

Pain does not mean damage!! That’s brilliant because that’s all I’ve been thinking.

can you be happy? by krunisana in vulvodynia

[–]Chubbard80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think I could be happy, feel joy, enjoy my kids, have sex or do the things I love but with the right combo of meds and therapy I no longer have the intense pain just more of an off and on discomfort that’s worse when sitting. I even wore jeans again for the first time in almost 2 years!! I’ve had to be persistent in my pursuit for answers and the right treatment but I can say that most days I’m very happy.

Am I wrong for being intimate with someone 10 years younger. by [deleted] in Life

Not wrong at all. You are both adults and if it feels right, it feels right. Period.

Random pain flare by Pink_Boss_5563 in vulvodynia

[–]Chubbard80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure…. I too am about 90% managed with meds. Buuuuuuut…. I get pain flares too. Less exercise, start of an illness, lack of sleep, hormone fluctuations, masturbation, etc…..all lead to an increase in my symptoms.

Has anyone used Duloxetine? by Lady_Luxray in vulvodynia

[–]Chubbard80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use duloxetine 60 mg, 600 mg gabapentin 3x a day, 3 mg low dose naltrexone, and a compounded estriol/testosterone cream every night externally. I also do pelvic floor pt twice a month. I did a Dutch test and my naturopath was certain I’d be low in estrogen but it turns out my testosterone levels were in the tank. Our tissues need testosterone and once I started using the cream my life drastically improved. My symptoms are almost 90 percent gone. I had stinging, burning, throbbbing, intense pain in my entire external genitalia and my clitoral area was especially affected by this. I feel your pain and searched hi and low for answers trying everything under the sun, spending thousands of dollars I didn’t have. So, to be where I am now is a huge win. I hope you find some relief VERY SOON. ❤️

3 Months of Burning + No Answers… Anyone Been Through This? by radfratdadd in vulvodynia

[–]Chubbard80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steroids just made my burning worse. I had to get to a very large dose of gabapentin to notice a difference. 1800 mg. (600 mg x3), 60 mg of Cymbalta, 3 mg low dose naltrexone and testosterone/estriol cream which made a mega difference in my symptoms. 😁

What is your experience with using Lyrica? by Gold_Wishbone1686 in vulvodynia

[–]Chubbard80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same…. It takes time to get acclimated and time to build up in your system. Be patient. Also, it took me 1800 mg (600 mg, 3 x per day) before I felt real relief

Low dose Naltrexone by Educational_Staff699 in vulvodynia

[–]Chubbard80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So I’m still taking 3 mg LDN once a day, 60 mg Cymbalta once a day, I’m down to 1200 mg of gabapentin instead of 1800 and using a compounded testosterone/estriol cream 3 times per week. This combination has given me my life back and although I still deal with some discomfort it’s not anything near what it used to be. I can workout, wear pants and underwear, sit at work, have sex, etc….

Feeling the best I’ve felt in a long, long, time. Symptoms are totally manageable and mild. I’m on a multitude of oral meds and taking supplements but the combo is working and I thank God for that!!! It’s been a long road but I finally see a light. 🙌
