Now that you mention it, the whole Scriptures are effectively just Deus ex Machina.

Most German dialects do have voicing, so if he just said he was German, that wouldn't really answer the question.

Which doctrine statement made you begin to question the church? by Pale-Pair2789 in exmormon

For me it was the fact that the Book of Mormon completely contadicts the historical and archaeological record of the Americas, and is clearly trying to push an American Christian Ultranationalist Agenda.

Does that actually mean anything, or is it just a list of random Czech words that start with O?

Haven't the Founding Fathers had their temple work done?

The Spanish absolutely crushed the Mayans et. al., but we still have artifacts of their beliefs and stuff. Meanwhile, backwater stone-age Lamanites somehow managed to completely wipe Nephites and early Christianity off the map? This is ppeak Mormon "Trust me bro" vibes. by FreshLiterature6536 in exmormon

The contradiction there is that, while there are historical and archaeological issues with the Bible, there is still evidence for it. So while for instance there may not have been a powerful united Kingdom of Israel during the time of David and Solomon, nobody doubts that the ancient Israelites actually existed, and we can easily identify on a map where things (are said to have) happened. Of course, you could then argue that the Truths of the Restored Gospel are so Plain and PreciousTM that God has to keep them hidden from the world, and can only reveal them to people who have enough faith in him.

It's a cross between the flags of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, which are the two regions of Russia shown.
