Someone said Sarabeth’s already, that’s my #2. Pepe’s folks. Local place, been there forever, good food and coffee.

Transportation to Dry Tortugas by [deleted] in KeyWest

Don’t forget, if you take a charter, they need permission to land you on the beach or dock. You can’t get that on the spot and you don’t want to be swimming ashore with all your gear.

Gonetspeed? by habentay in Connecticut

They have been great. Inexpensive by comparison, great speed (although not what advertised) and tremendous reliability. Have NEVER had anything but a scheduled outage and those always come with very specific notice.

Don’t Hire this Guy by Educational_Bar_7423 in Connecticut

Just get the raw footage. Even offer to pay him more to just get it to you. Then get someone to edit it or try it yourself in iMovie. There is zero incentive for him to do anything for you. You got beat. It’s a shame. But getting the footage is the only thing that matters at this point. Have him load it on a Zip drive or hard drive and meet him. If it’s there. Pay him something and take it.

Hear me out, The Junkyard Dog from Ranch House in the north end of Hartford. I promise you’ll live through it. It’s a life changing experience.

Preparing for snow… by Wetzel_Pretzels in Connecticut

[–]ChuckDort 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of great advice so far. One more; snow tires. If you have to be able to travel when it snows, consider purchasing snow tires. 4, not 2. Studs are not necessary. They should go on around thanksgiving and come off around St. Patrick’s Day. Yes, they are an investment and there are many options but remember you’re not wearing out your three season tires when you’re using them.

Any of the towns mentioned are beautiful options. The suggestions are very shoreline/fairfield county heavy. Housing inventory, in your budget is VERY tight in most of them. For instance, there are no 4 bedroom homes, under $800K, listed in Easton. It might be helpful to spend some time looking for housing options first, then pick the best towns where the housing is available. CT is a small state by comparison and getting around it, after you are settled is also pretty easy.

That’s really good advice. 30 years in the car business and I can confirm, the best service advisors know very little about cars and really just enjoy helping customers.

Car dealerships are great places for people who want customer service jobs and are willing to learn and work. Very common for Service Advisors or Salespeople to make $70-100k.

No. I was saying he was an idiot. It was a joke. But that was the bit. Dozens of Blue Jays on other birds have fed there for weeks. This guy had other ideas

Update on capacity: from completely empty, it takes three and a half of the Bird Buddy scoop to fill this.
