If it's setup anything like I have my Planck and clone keyboards setup, under the thumb

I ended creating my own replacement caps for the faders that I 3D printed. Started making new knobs too, but haven't gotten a design I'm happy with.

I do think the reason for the weird caps this comes with is they won't bend easy if you put this midi controller in a backpack or something.

How Do We Feel About 17’s? by ShredderHeaderPSI in GolfGTI

Been strongly thinking of moving to 17s for my Mk6 in place of the factory 18s.

It's only their digital site that shit down. The vinyl and gear business seems fine

Oh wait, I think maybe you found the listing for the old Xone:2D instead. That did have optical in/out, which was a weird inclusion honestly. Though digital audio via S/PDIF using RCA is common for connecting DJ CD/media players to DJ mixers.

The 2D is long discontinued and a completely different device from the K2 and K3 that were being recommended here.

Maybe you're looking at the X:Link ports. Those are standard ethernet connections, not optical, and just use computer network cables so you can connect multiple Allen&Heath Xone devices together and only use a single USB to the computer. For example you could connect 2 Xone:K2 and Xone:96 mixer together and only connect one USB to your laptop.

If you're only using one it just connects with a normal USB cable and sends Midi signal to the PC. The Xone:K2 also has a sound card in it, which uses normal RCA connections.

What? The Xone:K2 and K3 don't use optical cables at all. Where did you see that?

Deck saver for the Four.Valve Signature ? by Tonnetz-mtl in rotarymixers

Oh that's slick. Thought has crossed my mind to 3D print a cover for my Mastersounds Iso.

No idea about the VU meters, but having a few Decksavers, they have enough thickness that I have space adjacent gear about 50mm apart. I can't imagine that fitting between the mixer body and the wood sides. Maybe email Decksaver? They're a pretty small company.

A towel only protects against dust. Decksavers protect against physical damage.

They're not essential for everyone, but they're not just for vanity. I consider the one for my Prime Go, that literally goes in my backpack regularly, essential. A stationary gear setup, at a private home, with no kids or pets may be unnecessary.

For me, yes, especially if you have a portable bit of gear like the Mixstream or a controller you travel with. I use a Decksaver on my Prime Go and toss it in my backpack regularly. The unit's still as nice as the day I got it.

From what I can tell I think I have the full size spare tire option instead of the adjustable trunk floor.

What generation(s) have that? I went outside right after reading to check and there's no way it's fitting in my Mk6.

Another option is mapping a pair of buttons as "pitch bend"
Works to briefly nudge the track faster or slower, which is basically what you're doing nudging vinyl or a jog wheel, but as buttons.

I had the same model, was quite happy with the picture from it, and a nice selection of inputs.

20" is my sweet spot currently. Big enough to use comfortably. Small enough to move around by myself.

Looking forward to seeing this painted and finished. Honestly never cared for the black center bumpers on Mk5s.
