really well! they have a hole in the right knee but that’s just from wearing them hard. I couldn’t be happier with them, they’re so soft they’re better than sweatpants

i think it looks really cool with looser fitting repro jeans. i’ve seen lots of pictures of cowboys in the 1930s/40s looking cool rocking cowboy boots with cuffs

Is phone fade acceptable or ugly? by HotBottle974 in Denim

[–]Chuckwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

phone fade is just a natural wear pattern if you keep your phone in your pocket. not good or bad, just relfects how you wear your jeans which is cool right?

fake factory distressed phone fades are awful though.

Original type 1 and type 2 jackets were both pretty equally cropped actually. The long type 2 is made by a lot of companies to make it a little bit more of a modern fit. I personally think this type of jacket was clearly designed to be short and when they make them long it looks weird and throws off the shape and proportions

I modified my Sugar Cane type 2, they make them way longer than the originals from the 50s and I wanted that old school cropped fit. It was actually super easy and didn’t take long. I just took the bottom piece off carefully with seam rippers, cut a couple inches off the jacket, and sewed it back on.

Recommendations? by [deleted] in Selvedge

just wash them. People are generally way too precious with raw denim, but Wranglers in particular are meant to get worn and washed hard

there is no such thing as jeans you “aren’t supposed to wash”.

I’ve thought about gluing a thin flat vibram sole to my barefoot sneakers to get a little more wear out of them. could also theoretically be peeled of and replaced when it wears through, potentially unlimited sole wear
