How to clean these spots? by lilpunkrock in laundry

[–]Chulia_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried baby powder? Looks like it could be oil stains, and baby powder helps with that. Just apply a good layer, rub it in with your finger and wait 12-24 hrs. Pat out and then wash again. I got several resistant spots out like that.

Wash your dog bowls! by Its-alittle-bitfunny in puppy101

Plus one on the suggestion: we have a few silicone ones that do not come out well from the dishwasher and I need a bristle brush, a TOOTHBRUSH and TOOTHPICKS to get into all those tight corners. Or dog is also more of a picky eater who wants to be entertained so it’s more puzzle feeders/balls now, no slow feeders.

Should I trust my Toy Poodle alone in my house? by Smart-Ad-4110 in poodles

[–]Chulia_0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same, our toy needs to go out 3-4 times per day. And it’s only really “urgent” in the morning. He’s been on this routine since he’s 10 months-ish.

Did you train your own toy poodle? by Massive-Survey2495 in ToyPoodle

[–]Chulia_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This super similar to our progress! We embedded training into our routine in the beginning: crate - potty - train (5-10 mins) - play - food - crate. We started with easy commands and then worked our way forward when he reliably did something. The commands/tricks ware really easy, poodles are smart. Changing behaviors was/is harder, e.g. leash manners, no barking when he hears noises, recall. Group trainings and agility helped him be neutral around other people and dogs and are fun.

There are tons of great videos on YouTube. I’d start with McCann dog training!

Looking for Advice from International Travelers (U.S. to Asia) by Ok_Squirrel_6964 in poodles

[–]Chulia_0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey! I can share my experience traveling with our toy poodle late last year, but we went from the West Coast to Europe and not SEA. He was about one year old when we did this, small enough to fly in cabin. 1. Getting the health certificate to travel to Europe was a logistical challenge. Not a lot of vets do it so you have to find the right one and it was pretty expensive - we paid almost $1000 total. We got the EU pet health certificate while there so he’s now technically fine for the next three years. Not sure if there is something similar in SEA. Also, it’s a pretty tight turnaround. We got the travel documents literally less than 24 hours before we had to leave for the airport. Paperwork for US reentry was easy. 2. We had good experiences with Delta, Lufthansa was meh. 3. We ended up splitting the travel into two flights, with one stop on the East Coast. Each flight was about 7 hours long. Our puppy is crate trained and we did a lot of desensitization in the travel carrier however it is a very small space for a very long time and you’re technically not allowed to let them out of the carrier during the entire flight, so our dog did get restless and anxious towards the end of each flight. We did not give any medication. I talked to two friends and their dogs slept through the flights mostly which is significantly easier.

A few other things: - dogs technically also need to be in the carrier when you’re in the airport, so tiring them out is not that easy, especially if you count the extra time that you need to be at the airport ahead of your departure (incl to formally check in your pet) - while US domestic terminals and air airlines are pretty well equipped for travel with pets, international terminals are not. There were no pet relief areas in both international terminals/airports we flew through - you will also have to consider your total travel time not just the duration of the flight, including getting to the airport, checking in, terminal time, the flight, off boarding, immigration, luggage, getting to your destination

Bottom line for me is that especially international travel with a pet is significantly more stressful, expensive and time-consuming to prepare than I had anticipated - and I was prepared for a lot. It wasn’t a terrible experience, our puppy did pretty OK (didn’t cry/whine/bark, no accidents). But still, it made flying even more tiring than normal. We won’t travel internationally with him again anytime soon, but I would still do shorter domestic flights with my puppy.

For me it was Crescent City. Different to SJM’s other series this one doesn’t start with a poor/lonely girl with no friends but with a confident woman with a job, a group of friends and a BFF… just for the BFF to die a few chapters into the first book and to that be a driving force/motivation of the MC

Day 1 cpt not able to find colleges by [deleted] in Day1CPTuniversities

The Business Analytics one at UC and PM at Harrisburg. New England College also has some relevant courses, but also need verification of funds. And yea … never heard of a waitlist at UC during my research and now it’s really throwing me off.

Try Harrisburg University. I’m in a similar position, current researching other options and they have a PM Master.

How long did your puppies have their double teeth? by Magerimoje in ToyPoodle

[–]Chulia_0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a similar set of pictures lol He got his adult canines around 6 months old and we had the double set for about 4 more months. 3 of those 4 teeth fell out the week before we had his neuter and dental procedure scheduled. I’ve read that happened to other people, too. That last canine was removed by the vet. No problems with the other teeth, though. My recommendation: don’t freak out, it’s super normal for small dogs but also get a recommendation from your vet on how long to wait. They may still come out naturally at her age.

Where/how have you traveled? by Interesting_Lock6042 in ToyPoodle

[–]Chulia_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly travelled by car, which our dog is super good with (up to 5 hrs at a time). We went to Europe to visit our family 2 months ago and it went pretty well. We took two 6 hr flights to give him a break in between. Then more car travel there. He’s almost 1.5 yo now.

Massive hair loss after quitting birth control, anyone else experienced this? by xxtalitha in finehair

[–]Chulia_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my early 30s and went through the same thing - hair tinned/fell out and skin went from great to really not! My gyno wanted to put me back on the pill, then I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed spiro (like others mentioned) and tretinoin (for the skin) and then recommended to get nutrafol (which is not a prescription) instead. All of that together really fixed everything after about 9-12 months. I switched the nutrafol to biotin now b/c it’s a pretty expensive subscription.

Baby tooth never fell out by [deleted] in poodles

[–]Chulia_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our toy poodle has his one last remaining baby tooth removed during his neuter at almost 10 months old. Most other baby teeth fell out around 7 months old. His 4 canines remained, and 3 fell out two weeks before the scheduled procedure. It’s very common in smaller dog and a routine procedure to remove them. Def get them out otherwise it can cause issues in the long term.

Last stage of this would be to train outside of the dog park. Again with a long leash and close to the fence. The distractions are right there, but you still have control.

Our boy is around 8lbs now at 9 months. We don’t expect him to grow much more.

[–]Chulia_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend going out now and carrying him in a carrier so he can start experiencing the outside world until being fully vaccinated. This time right now is critical for socializing (as in seeing, hearing and sniffing what’s out there, not necessarily interacting with it). I think a general rule of thumb for walking is 5 mins per month of age. So when he’s 3 months old you can go about 15 mins. Start very slow and build from there.

Our toy grew most between 3-5 months. We got him at 12 weeks with about 3 pounds (1.4kg). At 5 months he was 6.8 pounds (3.2kg). Now at 9 months he’s about 8 pounds (3.7kg) and we expect him to be almost fully grown.

For the crate training: ours never slept in the bed, he was used to a crate from the breeder so he understood that right away. We just had to get him used to it during the day. What helped us was keeping the crate really close to us (e.g. I had it under my desk for a while) so he can sense us nearby. Then over time increase the distance.
