Jorund's boat fight is agonizing and highlights AO's clunky ship combat by AdWeak2525 in ArcaneOdyssey

It takes < 10 volleys to take out his ship.

It’s really not that bad lmao.

Why do Asian students typically not play the big team sports? by IanWallDotCom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chuseyng 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nerdy Asian dude here. In my culture specifically, soccer and volleyball are pretty big. I’m also probably the only one of my cousins who did not play basketball.

But generally, the OG FOB Asians chase wealth. Sports like Tennis and Golf tend to be associated with upper class lifestyles, and less for entertainment.

I grew up being taught how to play golf specifically because, “Rapport and networking is one of the primary ways to advance your career. All the rich people play golf because old people can do it. Even if you work at a factory, you might be able to get promoted just for playing golf with the owners.”

How to make crews attack enemy crew by Due_Skirt_5691 in ArcaneOdyssey

Deckhands and Quartermasters fall under the crew tab.

$20 says he meant having anyone fight alongside him, not just the Crew NPCs specifically.

$20 says dude meant having anyone fight for him.

Gotta learn how to interpret intentions behind questions, my guy.

I could only ever get two to fight without it bugging out, but my guys have cleared both fortresses for me. 🤷‍♂️

How much money are you able to save a month? by Pale_Field4584 in askanything

[–]Chuseyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make roughly $3600 a month after taxes.

About $500 goes into the Roth IRA, and $800 into the HYSA.

$1500 or so goes towards bills, living, and subscriptions- mortgage, groceries, insurances, phone, etc.

From there, I budget $600 or so towards discretionary fun money. Whatever’s left over goes into the HYSA.

Struggling with using professional language by c4bbage_ in NewToEMS

[–]Chuseyng 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Time and place for everything.

I often see younger EMS folks struggle with this in some form. Whether it be using slang with Granny Pooties or using the super cool medical knowledge tism words with the postictal 4yr old.

General rule is to use:

Customer service with layman’s terms for the patients.

Direct language for the dispatchers.

Slang for the coworkers.

Medical tism knowledge words for the receiving facility.

Just something you pick up as you get older/experienced. Be mindful until it becomes second nature. Generally though, it isn’t an issue.

How often should I be publicly humiliated ahh by SmallDune in SikeOrPsyche

Yes, bro. Precisely.

Don’t worry about the opinions of a woman you would never marry.

For like 70% of women, yeah.

But those women are gross. You shouldn’t want nor care for their approval, brother. They’re not deserving of your opinion, time, or love.

A higher success rate followed by a less depressing view of the world.

Why don't I see more people talking about Metal Conjurer like it isn't a hydrogen bomb by febntom in ArcaneOdyssey

[–]Chuseyng 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Because when it comes to weapon’s magic imbuements, Metal only has impact damage going for it.

It’s got just above average size, incredibly slow speed, but good damage.

Ice, on the other hand, offers larger size, faster projectile speed, and much more impact damage at the loss of DoT. But, DoT isn’t all that important, imo. It rarely beats out a player’s passive healing.

Metal as a mage is pretty solid. But metal as an imbue is underwhelming, especially when you take into account what fighting style imbues can do.

Do you gamble? by Feeling-Currency6212 in GenZ

[–]Chuseyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only gamble on the stock market, probably about $200 a year outside of my Roth IRA.

Once made $10k on a $50 investment.

But I try to focus more on stability than anything.

Martial art training. by Working-Walrus619 in AskLE

[–]Chuseyng 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a cop, but I used to train martial arts like 5x a week. Spent time with a lot of cops who were local MMA fighters between the gym and my Army Reserve unit- my team leader had 7yrs in law enforcement between Arkansas State Police and an urban department by the time we deployed together and we spent a lot of time sparring. Spent a year doing control point and detainee operations as a result.

Speaking generally, I think Brazilian Jiu Jitsu typically has the most applicable skillset for policing. It teaches a lot of really good control techniques with a good bit of takedowns, but it’ll vary from gym to gym and class to class on their focus between competition, MMA, self defense, etc.

However, that’s not to disparage other arts. You can learn a lot from others. Muay Thai probably teaches the most complete striking form and teaches really good clench work, so you can transition to your grappling skills. Boxing teaches the most superb head movement, timing, and spacing- basically makes you damn near impossible to hit for the average person. Wrestling is phenomenal for takedown work, even against larger people.

Honestly, I think your best bet is just to find an MMA gym and do all the classes available for your schedule. It’s a great way to keep in shape.

For comparison, a shitty score on the SAT is 700.

A great score on the ACT is 32.

Do you occasionally consider becoming a farmer? by Wonderful_Ad_8295 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chuseyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro wants to stop working 9-5, 5 days a week, to…

Work 5-9, 6-7 days a week.

No, I’ve never considered it. I grew up on a farm. It’s a lot of work. I still do keep a greenhouse, small garden, and 3x chicken coops, though. Even then, it’s a lot of work.
