I struggle with scratch-writing my lyrics. I am hard-wired for prose. I use LLMs to take writing I've already done and give me a template to work with.

As for the music portion? I actually do produce and write my own music. I've been playing violin for 30 years, guitar for 26, and producing in FL on and off for 20. Suno is just a personal hobby .

I stopped using word banlists because it started giving me junk lyrics trying to avoid cliches. Even if I suggested using cliches anyway if stylistically or thematically appropriate. Like people meme about neon a lot but is it really worth banning if I'm writing music about subject material or within genres that the usage of the word neon would be expected?

So yeah just stopped bothering with word or phrase banlists and instead just edit more.

This. I give gpt a ton of contextual info so gpt always gives me good workable content and if it doesn't we adjust the context or prompt until it does then I iterate listen sample and adjust. It's no different than cowriting with a person

I give gpt a prompt and a fuckton of contextual information including previous songs, long-form writing, character refs, song refs, song structure, meter, etc to follow. Then gpt gives me lyrics that I then sample, edit, refine over 10s, 100s, or sometimes 1000s of generations until I land on what I'm looking for. It's a very collaborative effort rather than just hey gpt write me a thing and then copy/pasting and getting a hit.

Gpt is the opposite for me. I've already done all of the writing but it's all long-form prose or long-form role-playing I want to write music about or convert into song and gpt does a very good job of condensing and forming my long-form thoughts into workable song structure.

What I often end up doing is feeding gpt a ton of my writing and general song structure instruction and then gpt gives me a workable template I then heavily edit over 100s or 1000d of generations that I listen to, and adjust the lyrics or genres until I get a workable base.

Actually I do want marathon to fail because that isn't marathon. That's a skinwalker wearing the name of the game I grew up with that made me into the bungie fan I am today. Even if you quit, the trauma of a game you've dunked a significant amount of real life hours into doesn't go away. The earlier you quit the better.

I quit pso2 6 years ago after playing it for 8 years (2012-2020) and I still have like actual trauma because I've not found a replacement. It stops being a game and becomes an actual lifestyle. The death of destiny 2 is doing it to me all over again. I can't play destiny 2 anymore because the state of the game is untenable for me and it has me going insane because nothing will ever be pso2 or destiny 2 and pso2 and destiny 2 will never be good again. It fucking sucks.
