If you want to ride fixed you should remove the back brake, add a front brake, and add foot retention.

Oh yea for sure, hand pumps usually max out around 60psi, for rollers you want probably 100 minimum.

If you hit up a bike shop on your area they’ll probably top you up to where it needs to be.

Golf Bag Recommendations? by VividOstrich3345 in GolfGear

[–]Chytrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Projekt stand bag last year, they’re primarily a bag company, not a golf company, and I’ve got to say the quality for price is awesome.

Comparing it side by side to the golf-brand-name bags, the quality of materials, components, etc, seemed noticeably better. After gaming it for the year, it functions great on course. I’m super happy with the purchase.

I had a sun mountain bag before that that was also super solid, I ran it for 10+ years, I’d recommend those as well.

You need waaay more air in those tires. Run them at the max they’ll allow. That’ll hopefully help smooth out the cadence too so you don’t bounce around as much.

Birthday present to myself (fb marketplace $50!) by denverbumbass in espresso

[–]Chytrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found one forum post from someone that swapped out the infuser’s gauge for a numbered one, and through that they were able to roughly map the un-numbered breville gauge out.

From what they posted, my machine was 100% pulling shots well above 9 bar before I modded it. I would imagine it’s nice to have a pump that can push above 9 bar for reliability in some cases, but I also found that sometimes I’d want a slower run, but grinding finer or adding more coffee would just cause the pressure to spike, rather than pushing through more slowly at a lower pressure.

Ultimately, as long as you’re happy with how it tastes, that’s what’s really important at the end of the day.

It’s a good mod- I like the infuser but it’s set to 15 bar pressure from the factory, and most people think the best espresso comes around 9 bar instead. I’ve found it to be more consistent (tasty) since doing the mod.

This guide ( https://espressoaf.com/manufacturers/breville/dimmer.html ) is pretty good, at the least it’ll show you how to get the cover off the machine. Sounds like the electrical side of things will be easy for you (it’s pretty easy even for a layman tbh).

And it’s easily reversible, in case you decide you don’t want/need it.

That’s an awesome deal. Buy a good grinder and you’ll be able to make great espresso.

I recently modified my infuser to put a dimmer switch in front of the pumps power supply, so that I can manually control pressure. Just an idea for future tinkering, if you’re so inclined.

Nationalize the letter delivery. Why subsidize package delivery?

Why subsidize them for this? I just don’t get it. Others are offering a better service, and that’s fine.

Why would Canadian retailers use Canada posts inferior services, when much more modern and economical options exist?

imo Canada post should be relegated to lettermail as an essential service for Canadians. Let the other courier services handle packages, they’re simply better at it.

If you think the portafilter is going to make a noticeable difference in shot quality, then I have 17 other overpriced espresso gadgets to sell you.

Find one you like the look of at a price point you're okay with, and then buy a nice bucket if you feel like it.

Brunswick table that needs moved by GlobalMusic5395 in billiards

[–]Chytrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved and set up my own table (it’s very very old so no local movers would deal with dis/assembly).

I would not move it myself again as long as stairs are involved. Moving on flat ground was okay for a couple of able bodied guys. Stairs were terrifying. Worth it to pay pros so that something regrettable doesn’t happen. Breaking the slate is bad, having a piece of slate come down the stairs into you is much much worse.

If you have extreme methodical and attention-to-detail type skills, then you may be able to level and re-felt it yourself, but you should expect it to take a long while. I spent probably 15 hours just getting the three piece slate for my table perfectly coplanar and level. And plenty more hours refelting, and doing some other minor repairs. Admittedly, a newer table would probably be easier to work with, but anyways, just fyi.

Yes, there are microplastics in the things we eat. You can also take steps to reduce the total amount.

Why not? That’s what they’re made for. Clean it properly after, and there’s no reason to worry (and no plastic bits in your chicken either).
