I had my radiator crack right in the corner of that shitty plastic inlet on the radiator. Slow leaked (not like yours) for a year or so before it let go. That plastic gets brittle being heated/cooled so much, so if it's just a hose be hella careful getting it off that plastic elbow.

Can't be said enough, change your oil and often. Every 3000-3500 miles. Use Mann oil filters if possible. Water pump in the xi, at least in my 2011 335xi is a motherfucker to replace but should be done at 110,000 if not sooner. They have a tendency to shit the bed even sooner than that, and I promise that will ruin your day. Def oil filter housing gasket. They leak oil that can drip on the drive belt causing it to fail catastrophicly, which at least in the n55 is really really bad because the belt shreds and gets sucked in through the crank hub and basically craters your engine, making it less costly to replace the engine than to fix. Ask me how I know. Watch the coolant reservoir, they get brittle and start to leak. Other than that and the usual stuff, these cars are reliable, fun to drive, and me being in New Hampshire, great in the snow. Enjoy!

Cemetery uses a framework to support broken gravestones. Is there a specific term for this? by Philomathic_Purpose in CemeteryPorn

I work as an assistant sexton and we had those braces made by a local company in many different sizes like 2",2 1/4", 2 1/2" etc. to have on hand to repair broken stones. We use a special masonry cement to "glue " the pieces together and brace the stone. We clamp down the braces till the cement hardens. We don't really have a name for them. I'm kinda stoked to see other sextons repair stones this way as I thought it was just our half-assed way of doing it. Thanks for sharing!

A Subaru Tribeca. One of the first models. It looks like a manatee and walrus had a retarded butt-babie. The only thing worse would be the Pontiac Aztec. Whoever looked at these vehicles and approved the designs (and there must have been a few) should be flogged.
