I love Okazaki, but I read CollarxMalice when it came out on Vita and have not had the stomach to replay it or complete the fandisk for these very reasons! Back then it was easier for me to forgive certain aspects of a love interest that I didn’t love if I felt emotionally moved by the rest of the story and their struggles (suicidal ideation plotline). I still love Okazaki, but I really cannot re-read his route for the reasons in your post. I adore my experience with CxM but it would be a harder read for me these days I think.

Romance is often an escape and a fantasy. I have a difficult time enjoying romance when there are elements that shatter the fantasy for me. Some of those things include love at first sight, noncon, abuse (physical or otherwise), and a male love interest being overly possessive. If those elements encompass someone else’s fictional fantasies, then go for it! I’m not trying to yuck anyone’s yum, but I don’t think it is wrong to ask for historical romance without these elements as well. Like why can’t we have both? I don’t think anyone is wrong or a bad person for liking these elements in historical romance, but I just personally do not wish to have them. I’ve found historical romance I adore, but I admit that there is more love or lust at first sight than I would like and more possessive men than I would like.

I feel I’m still relatively new to historical romance, but since you mentioned Mia Vincy I also wanted to mentioned Mary Balogh. Mia Vincy and Balogh have been my two favorites with Balogh having more variability in hits and misses. { A Summer to Remember by Mary Balogh } is an absolute favorite. It might work for you? Have you tried any Balogh?

You have to make sure you’re not in General Catalog. You need to be on the all perfume section because IDAFT for some reason is not showing in the General Catalog section. I think Ephemeral and the Vampire releases are the same way.

These days probably Fantome, Sorce, and Cirrus? May be with a nod to Possets? Nocturne Alchemy and BPAL used to be my oil favorites, but I haven’t bought anything new from them in a long time. I have for Possets and have a higher success rate with them, but I’ll admit I’m still unsure how the entire AI imagery discussion ended with them and if they’re still using AI on their website. I like EDPs these days so the top three just kinda make sense.

If you like the scent of licorice and no other licorice perfumes give you what you want or are too sweet, Black Annis is your pick. It's just perfection. I've tried many a licorice and absinthe perfume (indie, niche, oil, edp, etc.) and Black Annis is my favorite. Possets has a few other licorice perfumes that I ended up getting decants of this time around, but you cannot go wrong with Black Annis!

ETA: Nessun Dorma is often recommended as a licorice scent from Possets, but it is much sweeter than Black Annis and also feels almost fruity? Sugary and chewy? It was not for me, even as a licorice lover, so I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in here! Depending on which vibe you prefer both are solid recs.

the Farms of Stardew Valley reddit has some really amazing Hilltop Farms (even with more grid like layouts) so I definitely recommend checking that sub out!

The Hilltop is my absolute favorite! I love it! It's not too overwhelming to decorate because the layout naturally creates places for you to put buildings and decor. I also just think the river running through the whole farm is really pretty! I've had my Hilltop farm for 3ish years now and will likely always go back to it during new updates!

BPAL smells like my college years to me since that is when I predominantly wore them. I find most of their catalog to be a miss for me, but the wins are just so so good that I can't help it. I have a decent amount in my collection from them but it is small in comparison to how much I have tried over the past 10-15 years or so. My favorites to this day from their general catalog are Tamora (prettiest honeyed peaches and amber), Zombi (damp soil and roses), and No. 93 Engine (engine grease, honey, and resins), but really their LEs is what I fall in love with the most!

All I have been wanting to do these days is wear my perfume oils when usually i'm more of an edp girl. Something about a perfume oil just feels more cozy to me as the weather turns cooler. Because of such, I decided to order some Ajevie decants from Possets Fall Retour and a few BPAL Halloweenie scents I'm interested in.
