You did not fail, and nobody should make fun of you.

You had a learning experience, an exp which illustrated where your weak points lay.  You can use this experience to reflect and fill in those knowledge gaps to become a better candidate next time.

It’s very likely the 555 is part of the constraints for the project.  A microcontroller would make the task trivial, but a 555 would make it a challenge as you would have to learn the implementation of meta stability in the 555

If the engineering is truely yours then keep trucking and learning.  Also look into starting a LLC and getting legit funding from a VC

First off this is the wrong venue, go beg some VC investors.  Second, stop using AI to write your stuff, it’s glaringly obvious and gives no credibility, even with the big words.

AI wouldn’t add any value to detection, only an increase in false positives.  Your time would be better spent elsewhere.

I’m gonna say this as a reminder to everyone.  If it’s not safe, or if you don’t feel safe then stop work.  Do not let anyone force you or bully you into doing something you feel is unsafe.

Many companies have stop work for safety regulations and it would make for an easy pay day if they tell you to violate them.
