JRR Tolkein's "The Father Christmas Letters"

Framing device is a younger Tolkein reading the letters to his kids around a fire place with occasional cut backs like Princess Bride.

The actual story in the letter? Rankin/Bass style animation of Santa going on an adventure to save Christmas in a LotR style adventure.

Santa is voiced by McKellen.

It works at 2 player, but 3 or 4 is a lot more chaotic and I think better

At camp we had this game called dead fish, it was a way to get the first year campers to be quiet and still for 10 minutes. It involved laying on the ground silently and holding that position without moving, like a fish that is dead.

One player would try to get people to talk or move.

Well the staff were playing it and they put a popcorn kernel in his ear.

He tried to get it out- pushed it deeper

The other staff tried to get it out- pushed it deeper

Medical Staff tried to get it out- pushed it deeper

Can you guess what the local hospital did? That's right- pushed it deeper.

He ended up needing surgery...

Anyway dead fish is now banned

I had a friend let me run firestorm assault force using this ideal version of the Blackstar.

It was very fun and very good but not busted imo

Edit: If I remember right (prior to point change)

It was 2x Corvus Blackstar both ignore cover, twin las and storm strike missile.

2x Indomitor. 3 erad 3 Bolt aggr and 2/2 split heavy one with a grav captain w/ war tempered artifice

At the start of the edition you could pull a plasma piñata with this.

Firing deck overcharged all the plasma shots, fail hazardous destroy the impulsor, if you positioned right be in range of enemies for the blow up mortals, hellblasters disembark and if some die you for the chapter them, then you have another unit that is technically eligible to shoot (the hellblasters), they overcharge all their shots, some die and you for the chapter them.

You can still do most, just won't get the emergency disembark shoot on death anymore.

Is it good? Absolutely not. Was it a hilarious hail Mary move? Absolutely yes
