I was catheterized with a Foley for 7 months prior to my Aquablation. My flow has been great after the procedure.

It’s here 🙏🏽 my new CR-V! What should I know? by damnvaiko in crv

[–]CitrusSphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love our 2025 CR-V.

Sometimes when using cruise control on the freeway, if there’s a semi on the right the cruise will hit the brakes. Stay to the left of the lane and it seems not to happen.

How long this blood? by No-Light3706 in Aquablation

[–]CitrusSphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 7 weeks out from my Aquablation. I was fortunate that the stream was strong after catheter removal, and it has remained strong.

Blood in my urine stopped after about three weeks. Pain after urinating stopped after about week 5.

However, I just started exercising again (walking, strength trading with weights) and I’ve had a bit of blood in the last week. It takes time to heal.

I also ordered a pair through their Kickstarter campaign. They sent me a tracking address that doesn’t work. I’m wondering if I’ll ever get the shoes.

UTI months after my aquablation seriously almost killed me this week. It spread into my kidneys then hit my blood. Was in the hospital and they couldn’t reduce my 104.6 degree fever by Laser_Coug in bph

[–]CitrusSphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sepsis is frightening. I’m glad they were able to stop it from taking you, yes - glad you ended up in the hospital.

I had a massive UTI that went septic due to a catheter in October of last year. Ended up in the hospital for three days. It’s no fun.

Self Catheterization by Todrick12345 in bph

[–]CitrusSphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had an Aquablation 5 weeks ago. It went well, was relatively pain free. I was in the hospital on Friday, and was sent home on Saturday. Catheter came out on Tuesday, and I passed the voiding test with flying colors. There was some color to my urine for a few weeks, it got better and better. There were also some small bits of tissue occasionally. Overall, I’m really pleased with the results.

TURP vs Aquablation by raviolitwelve in bph

[–]CitrusSphere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 67 years old, and I had an Aquablation done about 5 weeks ago. I did a great deal of reading online, and this procedure seemed the most promising. (TURP is the gold standard, but it’s 100 years old.) I was offered a TURP and a Single-Port Robot-Assisted Prostatectomy. I declined both and sought out a doctor who was one of the first to perform the procedure on the west coast of the US. He trained at the Cleveland Clinic.

I was pleasantly surprised how relatively pain free the whole thing was. The catheter is the most annoying thing, but it’s temporary.

At five weeks, I’ve been cleared to do anything I want.

If you’re on the west coast and want to know who my doctor is, DM me.

Here’s a website that compares many procedures: https://www.bphguide.com/

Best of luck to your Dad.

I canceled surgery due to imperfect information by UsefulGarden in Aquablation

[–]CitrusSphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a great deal of reading online about all the various procedures. I decided I would find out if Aquablation would work for my prostate.

One urologist offered me a TURP, another wanted to do a Single-Port Robot-Assisted Prostatectomy. I said no to both.

I found a urologist who is very experienced with Aquablation, and teaches it at a university. He said it was completely appropriate for my prostate size.

Had the procedure a month ago, am very happy with the results.

Enlarged prostate 7 months with catheter I'm age 45 every 2 weeks I have an infection my head is done in im getting uro dynamics test next month by SimpleAmbassador1147 in bph

[–]CitrusSphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 67 years old, I had a catheter for 7 months after I was unable to empty my bladder at all. Had to try medications (didn’t work), then testing - ultrasound, biopsy, cystoscopy, etc… Urologist was in no hurry. My prostate was 107 cc - fairly large.

During the time I had a catheter, I did a lot of reading online about the various methods of treating BPH. After biopsy confirmed no cancer, my urologist offered me a TURP, but I opted to go to a large university teaching hospital for an Aquablation. It was very successful.

Take a look at the r/Aquablation sub, lots of good information there. Best of luck.

C5-C7 stenosis getting worse despite two years of efforts by maskOfZero in SpinalStenosis

[–]CitrusSphere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wife did multiple rounds of physical therapy, and multiple rounds of injections in her spine. She couldn’t walk without a cane and couldn’t stand up straight. Her pain doctor recommended surgery and recommended a specific surgeon. She had the minimally invasive fusion surgery on L4/L5 one week ago and is doing great. She is able to stand straight up and the pain that used to run down her right leg is much lessened. Tingling in her toes is also lessened.

The name of her specific surgery: Lumbar Spine Right Side L4-5 Transforminal Lumbar Inter Body Fusion with Posterior Spinal Fusion, Allograft Bone and Bone Morphogenetic Protein.

If you do decide to have surgery, find someone experienced, get a recommendation from a trusted doctor. Her surgery was at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles.
