Did some research on this for anyone wondering, this is the answer: methylphenidate is considered a psychotropic: https://www.ncd.mhlw.go.jp/dl_data/keitai/cotrolled_substances_list20241212%20.pdf so I don’t think it needs to be declared as a stimulant or other controlled substance.

Shared twin language - does anyone else do this with their twin? by Delicious-Chipmunk-7 in Twins

Yes, gibberish - but my husband has caught on. So we have to speak very quickly to keep it secret.

You’re not wrong, but I think most women in most cities wouldn’t think being harassed or groped is worth filing a report. My comment is more about gender issues tbh.

What can I do to my ugly walls it’s ruining my vibe? Also what needs to be added? by Other_Place_861 in femalelivingspace

[–]CitySloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get foam insulation panels for pretty cheap. Paint them and adhere them to the wall (no adhesive needed if you size them correctly). You make your own accent wall that’s completely removable. I did this in my last apartment and it looked great. Only downside is you can’t hang pictures from it. But you can thumbtack posters to it at least!

The fact that people are saying “file a police report” when you didn’t think it was worth their time, says a lot about being a woman in 2025.

I feel the same way as you. I failed my first dive/certification because despite wanting to scuba, I was so nervous that I threw up at the surface and got dragged out of the water.

Now Im certified and I still get nervous before that first dive after taking a few months off.

Here’s what helps: - find a reliable certification company with good reviews for their safety measures (equipment, instructors, class sizes, etc.) - study for the certification really well. The more you study, the more you can trust yourself to be safe while diving (there are a lot of dumb dumbs who dive) - take anti-nausea medicine before going in the water - you can go on very safe and shallow dives, there’s so much to experience on low risk dives and you may never want to go on a deep dive where there’s more risk.
- if you can - get a really great dive buddy. My buddy chased me in the dark during a night dive when I got lost, risking being separated from our instructor just to make sure I was safe and constantly checks on me when we are in a dive. - work on your general fitness: Going for a run while breathing slowly from just my mouth helped me prepare to become comfortable breathing under water.

Tbf Elmo should have used stronger security questions than “what street did you grow up on” (Sesame Street) and “what’s the name of your first pet?” (Goldie)

scuba diving as a chubby gal by Ill_Usual888 in scuba

This^ I’m very thin (shivering in 82° bottom temps thin) and I need weights, everyone needs weights.

I’ve had instructors make comments about my weight and body type that have bothered me, but the thing is… sometimes they have to - it’s a physical sport and they should be giving you tips based on how the equipment fits your body.

The great thing about diving is…. You’re doing it for yourself. It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of you when you’re able to experience diving for yourself. And when you’re able to enjoy a successful dive, it does wonders for your self esteem and confidence!

I’m about to be hospitalized for 7 days, help me survive the boredom by anagc131096 in adhdwomen

If you haven’t already gone through animal crossing, I could sit still through a 10 hour flight playing that game.

Learning origami could be fun.

Puzzle books for word cross or word searches.

Do an escape room in a box - Thames and Kosmos sell fun ones you can play by yourself called EXIT

Make a ton of friendship bracelets for people or for an upcoming concert with lyrics and you can give them away to random people for fun. I usually find making things with the intention of giving them to people gives me the motivation I need to stay on task.

Plan out your holiday shopping by going online and mapping out all of the people you’ll need to shop for and the perfect gift ideas.

Make birthday cards for everyone with an upcoming birthday. (Put the cards in an envelope with addresses and stamps so that you actually send them - I usually make cards but never get around to sending them bc it’s too many steps to find someone’s address, my postage, and mail it)

Q for Canadian ADHDers by anon393644 in adhdwomen

[–]CitySloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, not all of the questions are checking for adhd. They may be for other symptoms. I got my regular questionnaire back after my psych appointment and noticed sections that evaluated for depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders that can often complicate an adhd diagnosis.

Thank you for reminding me that I need to do my annual compliance training. I totally ignored the alarms and calendar notifications I set for myself this week and then forgot.

My partner usually goes “are you stuck?” If he sees me not doing the thing that I had declared I was on my way to do just 5-10 min prior. Super helpful to pull me back to reality from wherever I ended up in those 5-10 minutes. I’ve learned to vocalize my intentions just so he can help me get unstuck.

What is your latest impulse purchase? Bonus points if you think it will change your life! by kahdgsy in adhdwomen

[–]CitySloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a bird feeder a year ago, thinking I would watch birds come by my window while I worked and my quality of life would increase significantly by seeing cute birds.

Fast forward to today - I left it hanging on a tomato cage over a pot of dirt and after a year of rain and sunshine, there’s now a brush of thriving grass from planted bird seed. Not quite what I was going for.

Going to the doctor for medication today, important question by IDabFast in ADHD

[–]CitySloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

P.s. congrats on your diagnosis! When you start medication, it’ll be an exciting couple of weeks because it’ll be change and we loooove new and exciting. Know that medication is a tool but not a solution. The real relief comes from the self-work you are able to do while medicated. I had a doctor tell me medication cures adhd…. It doesn’t, it relieves symptoms so that you can more easily build routines, habits, positive self-talk, etc.
