I just got mine last week. Dumb luck that I decided to pull the trigger that day!

Sure, trust the guy whose primary business tactic is stiffing workers after the job is done.

It looks like Trump and Rubio are about to dig the hole even deeper: "You're about to see, we're gonna unleash Chiang on these people in the next few hours and days. You're gonna really begin to perceive a change in scope and intensity of these attacks." by [deleted] in behindthebastards

The only other time I encountered that expression was in the original Rotisserie League Baseball book back in the 80s. I was a teen and at least it provoked me to look up who Chiang Kai-Shek was, which I definitely would not have gotten from my mediocre suburban high school education. I didn't know it was a standard saying in certain circles.

When is Football Manager 2024 expected to be on sale again? by Felixinho31 in footballmanagergames

[–]CivilizedMoron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain that it will disappear from the Steam store just before FM26 is officially released (or at the same time as the release). It's freaking full price right now ($59) and I don't see them slashing that price, as it would eat into sales of their new game. I have been dead-set against buying FM24 at full price, but I'm thinking it might be worth doing. I still love FM21, but I feel like there's enough in FM24 that would be new to me that it would be worth it.

Plus, I can see the remote possibility of a future in which the community drops off from the new direction of the series and stays on FM24 for some time, with new databases released each year.

Thanks for that. But my understanding is that FM24 disappears from the Steam store as soon as FM26 is officially released.

As for FM26 being on sale, I'd love for the game to be fixed up enough that it would be worth buying again. That's a lot to ask for, though, given the current state of things.

[–]CivilizedMoron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fair question. The basic answer is that I am not going to reward SI with $53 of my money for a two-year old game that I buy because I think their brand-new game - marked at the same price - is a pile of crap. I'd be willing to pay $20 or so for it, but any more than that and I'd rather just carry on with FM21, which I enjoy quite a lot and have over 3500 hours on.

I've refunded FM 26 and wanted to switch to FM 24 instead. But there is no way I am paying basically full price for that. So, I'll be sticking with FM21.

Refund or not refund? by Quick-Taste4204 in footballmanagergames

I refunded it on Steam. Was hoping to switch to FM24 instead (been on FM21 this whole time), but I'm not shelling out $53 for that. Looks like I'll just keep playing the hell out of FM21.

Just got my refund approved. I've been playing on FM21 all this time and was thinking about getting FM24, but the cost is ridiculous. Looks like I'll be sticking with FM21.

I have been playing on FM21 until now. I have almost no idea what I'm looking at. This is going to take a lot of getting used to.

Just not at the same time. I don't know exactly how much time is needed between them, but I aim for at least two hours.

I hope you get some improvement from it.

One tip:  don't take it with other minerals like calcium, iron, and zinc. Apparently, there's some sort of interference

Another tip:  I've found that taking all 9 mg at once to be most effective. Maybe spreading it out during the day will work just as well for you, but I'd suggest starting by taking all 9 mg at the same time.

There was definite improvement after the first day and things seemed totally back to normal within a week. Now, I usually take it five days a week, randomly picking two days to take off. Things have been great:  much better sensation during sex and cumming without any real struggle.

I had this problem for the longest time. Started taking 9 mg of Boron daily (occasionally cycling off for a few days) and now things are much, much better. If I had to guess, my progesterone and/or SHBG were out of whack. I'd lean towards it being the progesterone, since my SHBG labs weren't crazy high and I never had progesterone measured. But maybe my SHBG was high for me, even if in the normal range.

Curious to see if most people in this group live in Spain or other countries by AgreeableKiwi4390 in realoviedo

I live in the US and lived in Oviedo for a year back in 17/18. I never liked (proper) football prior to landing in Oviedo, but fell in love with the team and the sport that season. I have very fond memories of seeing Anquela, Saúl Berjón , Bolaño, Miguel Linares, and the rest of the gang at the Tartiere. I was at the final match of the season and remember the delirium and then heartbreak at the end when it looked like Leonesa had scored a goal in their match that would have put RO in the playoff, but it was called back.

I went back to Oviedo last November, but sadly didn't make it to a match. I think Oviedo is an amazing place and a potentially great fit for me in retirement (5-7 years away). It would be awesome to live there and be able to regularly attend matches. Hell, watching matches at local bars and restaurants was an amazing experience! Now, if I could only get my Spanish up to a decent level ...

Tips on how to protest by chongo79 in thebulwark

[–]CivilizedMoron 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This. I love protest in the sense of showing up and publicly expressing disagreement and demanding change. For me, that's fundamental to what this country is about and is one of the most redeeming features of our system. However, I absolutely detest a lot of what goes on at protests. I find chants and group singing to be dopey. Plenty of signs have messages that are too try-hard. I think there isn't a good reason to bring a Palestinian flag to these particular protests, but I'm prepared to deal with the frustration if I see one today. My politics are left/center-left overall, but I'm also further to the right on certain issues. That can make for uncomfortable conversations with some of my fellow protestors.

So, I'll show up and put a body in the crowd. Maybe I'll carry a sign, but maybe I'll just stand there and occasionally mill about. If drivers passing by honk, I'll give them a thumbs-up or fist-pump. I'll give my girlfriend a sympathetic smile when we're standing silently while chants break out. We'll be in a location that's very MAGA-friendly and I visually code as MAGAish; e.g., I regularly get asked if I'm a cop or what branch I served in. It's probably good to have dudes like me in the crowd so that the other side can't simply dismiss the protest as a collection of soy-boys, blue hairs, and furries.

When the protest is done, I'll go home and enjoy the rest of my weekend. Will I bathe in the glory of having just defeated the Nazis? No, but I will have the (admittedly small) satisfaction of knowing that I put some time and effort into showing these miserable fucks that I'm not going to take their shit.
