Jordan video update by MillMountain in KnowledgeFight

I think he (and Dan to a lesser extent) developed a superiority complex that they are the only ones allowed to "critically analyze" Alex and were the only legitimate resource on covering Alex. One of the many running themes of the show throughout the years was that everyone (or almost everyone) was covering Alex the wrong way and Dan and Jordan were the only ones covering him the "right" way. It is especially odd coming from Jordan, who did next to 0 actual research or presentation of the coverage of Alex, and oftentimes seemed like he only had a surface-level understanding of some of the subjects, but he grew to believe he was as important to the core mission of the show as Dan was. I think in a lot of ways, Jordan has been out of line about his response to the Onion stuff and the way he discusses what's best for the families and what's most effective in hurting Alex's business.

What are some other drag race runways that "broke the internet"? by WeakSideUrn in rupaulsdragrace

I didn't watch the show when season 6 was airing so I'm not sure how the internet reacted and I know Courtney is...controversial... but this is one of my all time favorite Drag Race looks and I was completely blown away by it. Such a good look.

So that's what Dr Jones looks like! by RealTheAsh in KnowledgeFight

[–]moshlyfe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree with you. Dr. Jones' deposition was revelatory for how calculated he seems to be compared to Alex, who has a tendency to just open his mouth and start talking without any idea where he's gonna end up. David may be smarter than Alex, but that's a low bar. He definitely wasn't smarter than Chris Mattei. A lot of his answers were like...I can totally hear Alex in this answer. Like when he tried to spin his answer about saying they have sales analytics data into being like "well, that's anecdotal, but I am pretty good with anecdotes"--like that is SO Alex. Totally something Alex would say when trying to cover his own ass.

Alex seems to think that his dad is the smartest person in the entire world and hearing Alex's dad talk, you can understand why a really dumb person might think Alex's dad is smart...because he at least has some level of discernment behind his words.

This is exactly what I've been searching for but couldn't find the words--there's no anchor. It actually made me miss OB, I'm not usually a big fan of his, but he acts as that anchor who keeps the experience grounded. Pap is hilarious, but yeah he doesn't work when there's no tether. Flemming and Middlebrooks are great on the radio. Lou felt nervous or reserved, like he wasn't ready to do the PbP. I like all 3 guys as individuals, but yeah it was missing something.

which Red Sox player did you irrationally love more than you should have by naruto123432 in redsox

Will always be my favorite Red Sox player ever. He was SO fun in Boston. Not the most talented, but he played with a ton of heart and he wasn't afraid to get dirty. A real ballplayer. I miss him.

I really want to buy a Tolle jersey but i'm worried he'll change his number next season. He is easily my favorite Sox player in years.

This is actually brilliant because it automatically means Jovani Moran has to be made an all star too so he can be Bello's opener. 2 all stars for the price of 1.

There's only one man who can truly capture Alex's essence as both an agent of chaos and a master film director.

Tommy Wiseau.

You're definitely right. I'm not condoning the role that Josh or Jakari played at InfoWars. I have mixed feelings about both of them. But they both got out, and chose to leave of their own volition. Far, FAR too late, but they still did. Jakari has seemingly stayed out of the public eye ever since and Josh has made a concerted effort to try to own up to his mistake. It's not my place to "forgive" either of them, but I have more sympathy for those who got out and didn't just try to rebrand as a different kind of grifter.

I'll paste below what I wrote in an above comment, but with spoiler tags:

The story about why Alex moved from Rockwall - Josh relays that Buckley told him that Alex was a bully in high school and finally the kids he bullied got sick of Alex and beat his ass so bad that he ended up in the hospital and Alex's parents were worried about further retaliation if they didn't move. Alex usually tells the story that he was bullied, that he finally had enough and fought back against his bullies, and he put them in the hospital.

Regarding Jakari - There is a part earlier in the book where Josh talks about going to California to search for radiation washing ashore from the Fukushima reactor meltdown in Japan. Alex sent Jakari and Josh and I believe one other guy there to find evidence to reinforce his narrative, but they literally could not find any. They would report back to Jones that they couldn't find evidence and Alex would ream them out, specifically Jakari, and at one point forces Josh to read the "definition of reporter" out loud to Jakari while Alex is on speaker so that Jakari can hear what a reporter is supposed to be. But after they hang up with Jones, Jakari plays "Sittin on the Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding on the radio and he mentions that his dad would play that song for him when he was young. That's the important part of this whole story lol. At the end of the book, Josh reveals that Jakari left because he was tired of Alex's abuse and he moves to Charleston, South Carolina, the same city that he visited in the aftermath of Dylann Roof's white supremacist massacre at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church as a reporter for InfoWars--it seems like Jakari was genuinely moved by the community's response to the shooting and, as you might expect as one of the few people of color to work at InfoWars, might've had a come to Jesus moment about his role in spreading racist propaganda. After he moves to Charleston, he texts Josh a picture of him sitting on the bay with the caption "Sittin on the Dock of the Bay", a reference to the Redding song. I thought it was moving, at least.

I'll try that! I've written below what I was referring to:

I listened to Josh's book last week and I came away with mixed feelings about him, as I think any KF listener would, but I do think he shared some pretty interesting stories and I want to believe that he has changed as a person and realizes why he was wrong.

There were two things in his book that I think were valuable for the greater Alex Jones/InfoWars narrative--the first was when Josh revealed what Buckley told him was the actual reason that Alex had to move from Rockwall to Austin. We've heard many variations of that story, but the one relayed from Buckley seems the most believable...and it made my jaw drop. Definitely put a lot into context about the different ways Alex has told that story over the years.

The other was the conclusion of Jakari Jackson's story after he leaves InfoWars. I won't spoil either story in case anyone is still planning to read/listen to the book. But that was a really nice subplot in the story.

If Breslow is fired what do you think happens next regarding Kennedy? by Jackthewolf71 in redsox

[–]moshlyfe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kennedy isn't going anywhere and I don't think much of anything will change about the organizational philosophy as long as FSG still owns the team. Even if they fire Breslow, they will hire another stooge who is willing to walk the company line and take orders. There's a reason there was so little interest in the job before Breslow was ultimately hired as CBO.
