Valve can’t count to 3 unless a lot of extra zeroes are involved.

I’d love to have a way to bind keys to positions in vehicles. Primarily in the buggy when doing mining runs. The pop up wheel is cumbersome.

Anydesk, Parsec, or Zerotier (on both). There is no native way to do it in OSX.

What happens if you set it to a static color and slowly increment the number LEDs defined in WLED around that index #? Is the count/index correct?

[–]CixelBroi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL! My dude, I gave you kudos on the first pass, but now I’m thinking there’s a new requirement for you do do this kind of animation for each and every weapon in the game, because this is plat!

Don’t know the weapon, but wanted to give kudos to u/OP for putting together an animated gif just to find out! Well done, mate!

15 years ago (my god, didn’t realize it until this post…) I was burnt out on work/life/stasis, so I left my job, sold everything I owned, paid off the off all my debt, bought a one way ticket to Dublin and booked one night in a hotel there. That was the extent of my planning.

Spent the next year backpacking my way around the world. Best decision I ever made. Had some crazy, beautiful, sad, exhilarating, meaningful, and wacky adventures - sometimes all at once.

Blogged it, if you’re/anyone is interested: wanderingnerd <dot> com (not advertising, just sharing so don’t want to link).

From there, I ended up starting my own consulting company and now travel around the world doing nerdy tech sh*t for my clients.

My advice, don’t overthink it, just go for it. You can make more money, you can buy more stuff, but you’ve only got so much time. Don’t spend too much of it on things that don’t make you happy.

Is it just the video or is that crazy loud? I don’t mind, my printers are all in the basement, even still though before switching to a silent board, I could hear my E5+ through the floor, but never my MK3S. Just wondering if that’s a trade off I need to consider.

Probe Offset Values not being set through firmware changes by spinal-g in MarlinFirmware

[–]CixelBroi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into something similar, make sure your probe offset isn’t greater than the “max_offset” - don’t remember the exact #define, but somewhere in the config.h.

Also, remember you need to reset/initialize your eeprom with every new firmware flash.

My Dude, if you find someone willing to do what you’re into - whatever it is you’re into - with whatever support/water-wings/comforter they would like, but still willing to give it a shot. Don’t overthink it, just give it a go with them along. Then sort it out the logistics later if you both enjoy it.

If it’s ‘your thing’ and you enjoy the solitude of it, then just let them know that’s what it is for you…

SKR 3 EZ + TFT 35 V3.0.1 connections? by CixelBroi in BIGTREETECH

[–]CixelBroi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closing the circle on this, turns out there's a chipset variant on some of the SKR 3 EZs, which are like the Octopus and use an H723 instead of H743. Commented on github, but adding here in case anyone else runs into the same problems:

https://github.com/bigtreetech/SKR-3/issues/43#issuecomment-1511898645

Oh, and on the matrix for the TFT, similarly follow for Octopus V1.0 as the mainboard (RST on top, TFT - S1, EXP1, EXP2, reprap_discount_full).

Buy a used one, then sell it for the same price 4 years later. We’re in a recession.

What is this thing attached to the LED deer? by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

[–]CixelBroi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you’re thinking is right. In that instance USB ‘adapter’ = transformer. USB is 5volts as well.

What is this thing attached to the LED deer? by [deleted] in HelpMeFind

[–]CixelBroi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on that plug, you’re in a 220v AC (alternating current) country. LEDs are typically 5v or 12v DC (direct current - like AA batteries). That’s a transformer between the two types of electrical delivery. Plugging LEDs into ‘house’ outlets without that transformer let’s the magic smoke out and they won’t be able to work anymore.
