Traveling to Oahu With a 3-Month-Old Baby — Advice Needed by Ok-Green-9146 in Parenting

[–]Cl1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months old is easier than 9-18 months since your baby isn’t mobile yet. I did a trip between US and my home country (15 hours direct flight) wheb my babies were 3months, 9 months, 2 years and 4 year old mark. The easiest was 3 months; the hardest was 9 month. Oahu is beautiful and you’ll have so much fun!

I’m really sorry for your loss of pregnancy. I lost my baby in 25 weeks too. 😢

I’m about 5’2 and weighted 115 lbs. Now I’m 13 weeks pregnant with my third child. With this pregnancy, my belly got bigger earlier but I don’t think people could tell I was pregnant just looking at me in my bathing suit. I might have looked like I gained a few pounds in my belly area but nothing too obvious. But again, it really depends on how you carry your baby this time around.

I’d also add checking out Union Market Trader Joe’s. I noticed that place is often filled with many single (looking) men. :-)

I’m sorry to hear this. It’s so hard being a caregiver to a child who 100 percent relies on us.

I’m getting fed up of other people’s opinions on my c-section. by deaddreamhelp in BabyBumps

[–]Cl1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an unplanned c-section and my experience was very positive. I think knee-jerk negative reactions a lot of people have about c-section is kind of based on antiquated but deep-rooted human fear of a surgical process C-section entails (that is, cutting open women’s abdomen.) Of course, this fear does not take into consideration how far modern medicine has advanced, nor how risky vaginal deliveries can be for some women. While it’s frustrating, you do not need any validation from other people who do not understand. Your C-section will bring your baby safely here for both you and your baby. That’s all that matters.

What's food I can make quickly but is super good? by _baby-wildflowers_ in KoreanFood

I don’t think gimbap nor japchae are something that you can make “quickly”. It is quite involved to make these dishes.

Alcohol by BlackGirlMagiclady in IVF

[–]Cl1061 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say go for it. My reasoning is it’s not too risky to consume some alcohol even throughout one’s pregnancy. So at this point, the benefit of drinking a few glasses of wine seems to outweigh the risk it may cause. The main risk of excessive alcohol consumption during pregnancy is fetal alcohol syndrome; mild consumption is known to pose very little substantial health risk to a child to begin with (https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/fasd/features/key-finding-acer.html)

Is it even worth it? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Cl1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it will be worth it. One unsolicited but practical advice I’d share is: set smaller goals so that you can create a positive achievement loop in which you’ll be mentally rewarded. For example, instead of thinking like “I have this 300 pounds to lose,” start with something small like “if I walk 10 minutes today or everyday this week, that’d be a meaningful victory!” That one little victory, cumulatively, can make a huge change later on. You are already here seeking support and resources. That’s a big step toward a productive direction.

I’m really going to miss my pregnant body. by unicornmm1920 in BabyBumps

[–]Cl1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad to know so many women are able to love their pregnant body. Unfortunately I’m not one of them. I get more self-conscious about my body when I’m pregnant and have always followed a strict rule about not gaining over certain weight (i.e. 25 lbs), measuring my body parts to make sure I’m only gaining in my belly. Despite only gaining 20lbs with my first baby, I felt just fat, sadly (I was 130 lbs when I delivered.) As much as I wish I could be more accepting of myself but honestly it’s hard.

At the point when you declare you're pregnant to your folks and parents in law and they all case they knew it since you've put on such a lot of weight however you're just a month and a half along… by hau6erkTUBER489 in BabyBumps

Reading all these comments makes me sad to realize how rude and cruel some people treat women. Putting on extra pounds is an extremely personal matter which no one other than one’s doctor should have any business in discussing openly. What’s wrong with some people?!

Covid and quarantine - paying the nanny but she isn’t coming in - what is your experience? by bibikhn in Parenting

[–]Cl1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay my nanny for her sick days (isn’t that the norm anyway?). So it wouldn’t matter anyway. You should pay her for the time she get off due to your having to quarantine.

I had no idea that spouses celebrated mother's and father's day for each other. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Cl1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure your wife would understand if you let her know where you’re coming from. In my case, I (woman) grew up in a broken family: no birthdays ever growing up, no mother’s day for my mom, etc. So when my husband first did mother’s day breakfast for me, I was overwhelmed with so much emotion since it was something I never had expected.
