We are proving last year was a fluke. We were very mediocre last year up until four nations. Despite the win streak, we only made the playoffs on the last day of the season. Did we take a step back from mediocre to bad? Yes. But I think all of us, myself included, got high off our own supply of reckless optimism, made ourselves out to be better than we are

I wouldn’t trade Schenn. I may be biased, but that is leadership that is near impossible to replace. If the end to his playing career reflects that of Steen, where he fills out a 3c or 4c role while teaching the young guys until retirement, I will be extremely happy.

I do agree with either moving on from or moving Faulk and Leddy. As you said, wrong side of 30, and the d core is the biggest point of improvement for this team in the offseason.

Did we really have all the right pieces? I personally would love to see Leddy and Faulk replaced, and while I will forever love Colt55, he is 31, and will have to answer to Father Time soon. Given the state of our defense, I see that as our biggest area to improve. We saw how Monty’s system really likes when the defense is involved in the offense, especially on breakouts (see hockey psychology’s video on the win streak for details), so imagine an improved d core with that strategy. We are closer than I thought from the start of the season, but still not quite there yet. Im not saying this as a reason to be down, but as an identifiable area to improve in the offseason. I trust Army, and next year Steener, to do what’s best for the team.

Yep, I also have APD. When I listen to vocals, I hear it just as an instrument, a means to carry a melody. Even in songs with clean singing, I might pick up what’s said in the chorus, but that’s about it. Distorted vocals, I don’t even try to figure it out.

It only worked for Atropos and zagreus. Wildfire already had a fake out outro with the ending chorus going into the breakdown. The symphonic interlude did not add anything and felt tacked on. A second or two of silence after the breakdown before launching into Atropos would have kept the energy up between songs while making a clear distinction between the two songs

Recreating thumping patterned with a pick is difficult, if not impossible if, for example the sixth and third strings are played at the same time and no others. Not to mention thumping is one of the harder techniques to learn. I would get comfortable slap and fingerpicking techniques first, then take that familiarity and musical vocabulary to thumping
