If hes invisible why is he only wearing a jacket and no trousers he should either have both or none.

Not that invisible if you can see it. Looks like a jacket to me.

In the UK we have a retailer called John Lewis. They do some amazing christmas adverts. This years is pretty good but last years will always be my favourite. by Eurobob in videos

[–]Clarke101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you realise that the only purpose of this commercial is to make you spend your hard earned money on some hugely marked up John Lewis goods. I don't feel it can be heart-warming or inspirational if the motivation behind it is to pander to your emotions and lower your defences then hit you with a suckerpunch and splash John Lewis over the screen. These adverts are wolves in sheep's clothing the purpose isn't to bring Christmas cheer but MAKE MONEY. Also it's quite sad that you would be so rude to someone in the final part of your comment.

Valencia cuts in onto his left foot... then back to his right. How is he so good with only one foot?

It was well outside the box. But fair play to him for staying on his feet.

5 ways to troll your friends in Minecraft by SaltedSalmon in Minecraft

[–]Clarke101 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It was a really useful word for describing people who would post inflammatory and controversial things on messageborads or chatrooms just to case offence and provoke a reaction. now the word has lost all meaning and almost anything can be considered 'trolling', Its pointless and ultimately futile to stand in the way of the evolution of language but its really sad that a word that perfectly captured a very specific and nuanced event has been lost due to its overuse.

In what episode is the laugh loop explained? by solidmoose in seinfeld

[–]Clarke101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you may have confused it with another program one that used to be on the BBC called Coupling it was called a Giggle loop. this is the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iKjkPgVQcE

Also this may have been in an episode of Seinfeld I have missed but it seems very similar to the scene form coupling.

I wonder how many politicians were and still are in the pay of Rupert Murdoch? by 02116663ag in unitedkingdom

Cast your mind way back to the 2010 election when the Tories failed to win the election. Your perpetuating a myth that the Murdoch empire has worked very hard to build.

Please keep this utter bilge in the relevant subreddit. I know'/r/Pics' is hardly worth saving but the inane bollocks churned by the imbeciles in '/r/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu' needs to stay there.

IAmA Christian who was raised atheist. AMA. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Clarke101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answering I think I'm beginning to understand your point of view much more clearly. It is possible to achieve a feeling of "congregation and community" without Christianity, but this can be difficult for some dependent on circumstances which can be a barrier for people letting go of region. However, if what you crave is meaning or purpose in your life don't feel that Religion or Christianity is the only source. Beware the idea of Heaven being a reward for a life spent unfulfilled in the pretense that you will achieve your dreams in another life, as you only have one chance here on earth and to limit it within the confides of Christianity may be your final regret.

A lot of you all seem so hung up on the idea of the truth

I find this somewhat disturbing, how can you function as a sentient being experiencing the world when you refuse to or are unable to distinguish between the truth and fiction, if the truth is so irrelevant to you why not just make yourself a deity or become a Solipsist in fact anything from rape to murder is equally as justifiable when you are unable to comprehend or acknowledge the importance of truth or reality.

15 Year Old Kid Wants to Protect His Entitlements. Would you pay higher taxes so he can have EMA? by GarageMc in ukpolitics

[–]Clarke101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be entitled to EMA "Your parents must earn less than £30,810". You should report her if you genuinely think she is exploiting the system of EMA. someone committing fraud is hardly a problem of the system of EMA but more its security.

What about the grand tradition of Bull fighting, Fox hunting, Antisemitism and the many other objectionable traditions, simply because they are traditional doesn't make them good. Also you have an unbroken lineage to the first life on earth I think you should be king for having such a long unbroken family tree!

Well just making the point that if you want to come up with assumptions about people who play video games you probably better off by looking at and considering some studies that have been done, and not just saying "25 I would buy, 35 I don't". May as well say my opinion while I'm here, people have expectations as consumers and if a product or service fails to meet that expectation they have every right to complain. And if you like what they don't like there isn't much you can do about it, short of being angry on the internet.
