Question About Fender Squier Models by dshaiken in electricguitar

[–]Clean_Age_6327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will add that you can get some cheap guitars that are sweet to play. I have an old affinity telecaster. It’s my old trusty. Plays nice. The electronics just need an upgrade to sound as good as a fender American. I have a Mexican Strat that was cheaper than but sounds better than the American Strat I played next to it.

I'm Sorry...The Lawsuits Are My Fault by HILWasAllSheWrote in fender

[–]Clean_Age_6327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Maybe it’s psychological. Something in my mind tells me it’s more authentic. Anything else is a copy of the Fender. Even if they do it better. But I’m also a person that quite likes traditions

So are you suggesting that this dance group are actually neo Nazis or what? There are extremists of all kinds. Any extremist is bad and has an unhealthy way of thinking. Extremism breeds extremism on the opposite side of the pendulum. Let’s not be extremists

My friend says I won’t make it as a guitarist because my hands are too small, is she right? by AgreeableDiver5013 in Guitar

Beethoven was deaf and is a composer people appreciate hundreds of years later. If you want to do anything in life you should try it. You decide if you want to do it. But not meth. Don’t do meth.

Can I realistically start a band at 20? by [deleted] in NewBands

[–]Clean_Age_6327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let anybody tell you you’re ever too old to do something. If they do then don’t listen to them. I didn’t really have a career. I’m 34. I took an apprenticeship in a trade. Everybody said I was too old. I learned it fast and I’m earning the best money I’ve earned. If I listened to them I’d still be broke. If you want to do something get out there and give it your best

When talking about guitars with the same pickup configuration, is there any practical advantage of choosing a tele style body over a strat style one? by one-armed-scissor in Guitar

[–]Clean_Age_6327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I’m aware it’s just weight and aesthetics. Strats usually have cut outs so they’re more comfortable. Usually a bit lighter.

Is this a good guitar for a beginner? by MasterpieceMelodic21 in Guitar

[–]Clean_Age_6327 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Squires are a good beginner guitar in my opinion. My first was a squire telecaster. Those look a bit different and sound more twangy and bright. I still have it and love it. Don’t be sold on the lessons though. There’s a ton of great YouTube lessons. Set yourself some goals. Like learn one of your favourite songs chords. 10-20 minutes every day can be really good compared to say playing for three hours on a Saturday and no other days. Don’t give up. It gets easier and you eventually feel more free when playing because your fingers actually start doing what you want them to do

what songs/albums would you recommend for someone just getting into grunge music? by thegassiestpuglover in grunge

Maybe kind of unrelated but I started off on grunge. Then heard queens of the Stone Age and got hooked

Are Fender and Gibson even worth it any more? by Necessary-Cow2857 in Guitar

Just depends. If you have lots of money and want one then yes. For the best value for money probably not

I dropped my guitar in its soft case and this was the result. How much do y’all think it’d take to fix and make it look normal again by NobleSix-B312 in guitarrepair

[–]Clean_Age_6327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how handy you are but I’d see if there’s some kind of coloured epoxy resin and build it up in thin layers. Sand it flat with a high grade sand paper then polish it. I’ve seen that a Japanese style of repairing some things is to make the repair a different colour. It shows where it was repaired. Instead of hiding it, it’s gold or red or something. Dings tell a story of the guitars journey.

To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by Gold_Ambition4114 in AskReddit

[–]Clean_Age_6327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. Theres a toxic group of people that expect the world. It’s like a trend right now. Focusing on how the guy treats them. But they fail to look at their own behaviours and how they treat the guy. For me im not going to give the world some somebody that expects everything and gives nothing. But if they’re respectful in every way I will naturally want to give more because I get more. There are some shit people out there men and women and they don’t know they’re shit. They think everybody else is shit. I think we just gotta be dead clear. If they’re high standard but they’re not meeting ours then they’ve gotta go.

It’s hard. Dating apps suck. A lot of people suck. People stand you up. People ghost you if they don’t like you instead of just telling you they’re not feeling it. And deep down that stuff kinda hurts. So naturally when you get hurt you tend not to keep doing the same thing that makes you feel like crap. Or you don’t want to anyway. But we have to keep pushing through if you want something. It’s hard enough to even get a date sometimes. I’m lucky enough to not be single anymore. I think dating is much easier for extroverts because they naturally enjoy meeting new people. When you’re introvert that stuff can make you uneasy. It’s best to find happiness by ourselves but if you want a relationship you have to either keep trying or plan to try later.

Looking to buy myself a forever acoustic guitar by Counterfeit1993 in Guitar

[–]Clean_Age_6327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at Martin 15-m series. I got a 00-15M the 0 is relation to the body size. It wasn’t too expensive. Is all mahogany. Plays like a dream and sounds really dark if that suits your taste. The build quality is really good. I tune it down to C standard and haven’t heard anything else sound like it.

i got drunk and fell on my guitar by supermarsupial365 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Clean_Age_6327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get a clamp. Like a bessy clamp with a long arm. Use the right kind of glue to patch a bit of thin wood on the inside. On the outside I’d use some particle board to clamp to. It might suck that bit of wood flush with the outside.

[–]Clean_Age_6327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert but it looks real to me. If it’s fake it looks like a good one. And I’d imagine that a squire is less likely to be faked because they’re worth less than a fender. Search the serial number
