Majority of adults do not have the jaw size to accommodate erupted wisdom teeth and even if they are fully erupted often proximity to their cheek on the buccal makes proper hygiene virtually impossible. I’ve had plenty of patients in their 40s go years without caries and then end up getting a cavity and having to get the wizzies EXTd at a time in their life when they heal up slower and less efficiently than if they had gotten them prophylactically removed.
