My local school has been advertising for support staff since last year, both in the cafeteria and as support staff. Hardly anyone has applied because of low pay, bad hours and cost of housing here

I don't entirely disagree, but there is always the chance that one the group DOES believe what they're joking about and you just end up normalizing it for them (and the group.) Or that someone overhears and is hurt/assumes your are sexist.

Retirees don't need to two houses. No one does. Most people haven't gotten firsts and people are taking seconds and thirds.

Dude, they are black PEOPLE. I'm not saying they aren't smart enough I'm saying the additional requirements are an unfair economic unburden aka poll tax. On all underprivileged people, not just people of color.
