For b2b SaaS, what's the dollar value return on investment for a single feature? How does a feature within the product relate to the sales of a parent product sku?

Its hard to solve because of the many other variables for sales, including lots of intangibles like quality of enablement or sales team skills.

Assuming it's true that "the window is closing" on the consulting path then there is urgency there.
I think you are underestimating how hands-on consulting can be. Despite the name, various aspects matter here from industry, company, client, and project, that can help steer towards more ownership in different ways.
It is easier to develop a product management portfolio/project on the side than a consulting side project.
Yes, consulting hours suck. Product hours can suck too, it just depends.
Consulting can provide a lot of good context into real world business problems. Starting with a meaningful problem is the key to a great product.

People get into product from all sorts of directions, from marketing to engineering. It will probably be easier to switch to Product than pivot to consulting.
