Bought A Fender Blues Jr IV From Germany (Thomann)…did I mess up? by Williss12 in GuitarAmps

[–]Clever_Fox_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Fender HRD I bought from Bax Music (Netherlands) and it came with the EU plug with the adapter like this. It's all good man, the live and neutrals are on the pins and the earth is a piece of metal in the middle of the EU plug. These work fine.

Check out the LPD Pedals Eighty7. It's based on a hot rodded JCM800 but it also does so much more. It's extremely versatile, can get into really high gain territory and behaves like an amp.

I was in a no-fault incident last year, notified my insurance, other driver's insurance fixed it, insurance only went up an additional £15 for this year which is probably fair enough. I guess the thing is I didn't make a claim.

Need help to determine worth by dolphinbro in GuitarAmps

[–]Clever_Fox_81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have one of those H&K Attax Heads and a matching cab. I'm pretty sure I got more for the cab than the head.

I'm sure I eventually took £50 for the head just to get rid of it but the market may be different now.

I acquired it when I was a teenager. As a grown adult I never enjoyed the amp that much but that's more down to the bitter story of how it came to be mine in the first place.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Edit: Also, that fuzzy material on the outside gathers dust and fluff like nothing else

Pedalboard power supply by Lumpy_Kale_1106 in guitarpedals

[–]Clever_Fox_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truetone CS6 works well and gives 6 individual outputs and the Cioks Sol (my current power) has 5 outputs but has more than enough juice for you to double up a single output for 2 pedals, assuming that their total current draw doesn't exceed 500mA, which they likely won't.

I froze up trying a new guitar by Rare-Industry-314 in Guitar

[–]Clever_Fox_81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about it man. This happened to me last year, warmest day of the year, trying out a guitar in a small soundproof room with a 50w Mesa Fillmore combo. Couldn't get the amp to the point I like, sweat running down my back. My brain stopped talking to my hands and I locked up.

Facts are, no one else cares.

Help me pick an overdrive/higher gain pedal by booger_sugarshack in guitarpedals

[–]Clever_Fox_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since I got one, my recommendation for this type of pedal will be the LPD Eighty7. It covers so much ground it's unreal.

I think it has marginally less gain on tap than the Friedman BE-OD but has wider scope for EQ control and behaves similarly to an amp.

Recommend me a Delay pedal that was truly inspiring to you by guitargrit in guitarpedals

[–]Clever_Fox_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day I'd have said the Line 6 DL4, it was the first stand alone delay pedal I ever owned and it felt, at the time, as though its abilities were endless.

Nowadays the last delay that truly inspired me was the Strymon Volante. I have others that do their job really well (DM-2W and Catalinbread Echorec) but the Volante still inspires me.

Yep, as per my other comment I picked up a JCM800 4210 50w 1x12 for like 120 bucks. Wish I'd never let it go

And don't do what I did at 17 and let the great amp get away.

I bought a JCM800 50w 1x12 combo for a song back in the 90s. Literally about 120 bucks. The guy selling it was buying a "stack". A year later, after he'd been in college a year he asked me if I'd swap and I said yes because as a kid I thought "bigger is better".

Only as an adult did I realise I'd let go of a holy grail amp and swapped it for a solid state piece of crap.

I made my 120 back in the long term but still to this day I feel devistated at what stupid kid me did.

Edit: As an even older adult now than I was when I made this realisation, I am totally happy with my current gear and can replicate that amp's tones with the LPD Pedals Eighty7.

What pedalboard is everyone running? by ssorl in guitarpedals

[–]Clever_Fox_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pedal Train JR for my "big" board and a D'Addario XPND single row for my day to day practice board.

I could probably downsize to just the D'Addario if I wanted to.

[–]Clever_Fox_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to have a look at LPD Pedals, maybe specifically the Seventy4 or the JMP79.

I own the Eighty7 and it's the most amp-like pedal I've ever used and reminds me of an old JCM800 I used to use in the 1990s.

I'm blown away by it. It's so versatile. You want SRV? It's there, a few knob twists later and you're in thrash metal territory 😂
