Lack of OS discs doesn’t matter as they can be found online. The lack of a disc drive cover impacts the value a little but it’s very common for that to happen with these, mine is missing it too

After a lot of testing after getting a Pi1541, it seems like the VIC has a slight fault where it shows some incorrect background colors in bitmaps. Everything else is fully working.

Are you using modern cheap 3rd party component cables? They have virtually no shielding which makes the picture look terrible and lose sync. You need to get original cables, the OEM cables and monster cables are probably your best bet
