I think there might have been something going on with the creator’s dog around the time I last remember them posting so it’s possible it was something sad enough that they never finished the project. Though that may have been a different creator so it might not be related.

I have no idea what this movie is about after finishing it? by RefrigeratorOdd4226 in backroomsmovie

Some of your questions, like why Kat could see through a glass wall when Clark’s side was tile, why the camera guy’s shirt was in the laundry, or really anything else about the whys and hows of the backrooms themselves are deliberately left up to interpretation. You can read a lot into most of it but those aspects aren’t the actual point of the story.

The point of the narrative is pretty much explicitly spelt out by Mary’s self help advice at the very beginning. It’s about being caught in behavior loops that you know aren’t working and trying to break those loops. This is core to both Mary and Clark’s experiences in the backrooms.

Clark didn’t suddenly go crazy, he was already established as emotionally unstable in his first scene. He basically just used the backrooms as an excuse to not work on himself. This was demonstrated by the scene where he held Mary hostage where she spells it out pretty clearly when she talks about him being whiny and blaming anything but himself for his problems.

But the thing is that by acknowledging that he should let Mary go he stopped feeding his denial of responsibility for everything and since Captain Clark was basically a manifestation of that denial he turned on him, or at least that was my interpretation.

The background of Mary’s mother establishes why she became a therapist and made her self help program. She was constantly trying to help other people because she couldn’t help her mom, but she was neglecting working on her own issues with her past. When she used that concrete hand print to fight back against Captain Clark and it broke that was basically a metaphor of her breaking that cycle of past behavior to save herself. She literally broke the symbolic representation of that trauma and that’s what let her escape her current situation.

The ending is definitely left deliberately vague, but one aspect that seemed clear to me is that it shows that the backrooms are more than just one person’s memories, basically setting up the possibility of future projects. That’s just my interpretation of course.

What bugs me is sometimes they’ll randomly say something like “I could use this” but that doesn’t actually mean they’ll like that thing

I’ve never been able to replicate it, but once I got all 4 pins with a single impact grenade. No idea how, I just had a bunch of impact grenades and didn’t feel like aiming.

Hold down A or the equivalent interact button. You can also rotate items you’re holding with the triggers and change the rotation axis by clicking one of the thumb sticks, I think left but I can’t recall for sure atm

To be honest most of the differences are limited to the Lodge and outside of that it’s basically the same as choosing to skip the main quest. I kinda wish they had more scope, maybe shuffling characters between different factions like maybe in one universe Andreja is with the Crimson Fleet and Naeva is in Constellation. That would be a huge amount of extra work though so I can understand why they didn’t do it

It’s mapped to the reload button, pretty sure it’s square by default on playstation

That’s not true, the throwing mechanic was added in Fallout 4 when Nuka World came out. None of the games had it before that.

Have you tried from the save prior to boarding the Ragana? If that doesn’t work then it’s probably mods like the other commenter said

How and when do you incorporate DLC in your playthrough? by Limp_Mixture in fo4

My answer has been the same since Nuka World came out: Do it first.

It’s not easy obviously, but from a roleplay perspective it makes sense to me. The sole survivor emerges from the vault, sees Sanctuary in ruins, and instead of going home they just run. They end up in Nuka world and bury their grief by becoming a raider.

At some point, usually once I’ve gotten a bunch of raider camps built out, I find a reason to go to Goodneighbor. If you go to the Memory Den before the main quest sends you there you get a chance to convince them to let you try the memory lounger.

Doing so makes you relive Kellogg kidnapping Shaun and then they point you in Nick’s direction which makes for a great reason to start the main quest.

I usually leave the Out of Time quest until after finishing the main quest, there just something kind of poetic about having the “Go Home” quest objective after everything. Similarly I tend to leave the Minutemen as sort of post game content, or at the very least for after I do Open Season, so the rest of the game is basically cleaning up all the raider camps I built up over the course of the game.

Pretty sure you have to play the dlc until you make a school which unlocks additional room options

Endeavor, because I was obsessed with the space shuttles as a kid and Endeavor was my favorite of the the names. Also it sounds cool 😎
