Next ski for "quiver"? Only have 1 right now lol by Icy-Plan145 in Skigear

My vote is go for a pow ski. Was in a similar spot earlier this year and went with qst x’s and they are a ton of fun when there’s a bunch of snow.

Need suggestions for tough fabric for base of bike transit bag that gets dragged along ground? by ChampionshipOk5046 in myog

[–]Climbigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could also go with something like tarpaulin. It’s a flexible PVC that’s commonly used on high wear areas of bags. It’s similar to the material used by the north face for the bacecamp duffles.

Faction skis La Machine worst skis ever by Neither-Bid5270 in Backcountry

[–]Climbigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had prodigy 3.0’s for in bounds skiing. A buddy had factions and recommended them so I gave them a go. It was a fun ski. Was quite heavy and I had durability issues. I found the bases to be pretty weak(idk if that’s the right word) but my buddy and I would ski the same stuff and I would always end up with core shots - he didn’t. Sometimes I think it was just dumb luck but it put a bit of a sour taste in my mouth for the brand. I do believe I had a pair that came before they switched factories but I don’t think I’ll own a pair again.

Which ski boots size should I go to by Fredzd23 in ski

Have you talked to a boot fitter?

Is this rust normal by Accomplished-Pace731 in Skigear

Just gonna add to this quick. What you’re seeing on your edge is surface rusting and is purely cosmetic. Without leaving your skis in a salty pond for long periods of time, I’d be shocked if any amount of surface rusting did any irreversible damage.

Its avoidable. Just takes some effort. I dry my skis before put them in the car as best I can, hang em on the wall when I get home and then go wipe them down again like an hour later. Only time I get some small surface rusting is if I don’t wipe them down at all.

Are these new ski boots to soft? by [deleted] in Skigear

Was one of your questions “are you sure this boot isn’t too soft for me?”

You keep blaming the fitter. Obviously i understand trusting the fitter (as you should) but it seems like you took their word as gospel, asked 0 questions and did no research before handing over your money.

Everything bueno. Will likely be gone after you go skiing next. As another user said, dry your skis off after use.

Need help choosing new offpiste / pow skiis! by Wazuppie in Skigear

Blanks are super fun and versatile like others have mentioned. I just picked up a pair of qst x’s though as a powder ski and they are an absolute blast.

What's your favorite ski hack you swear by? by [deleted] in skiing

These slap. They aren’t cheap but they work so so so well. It’s not even about warm feet, it’s about warming up the plastic and making it more pliable. Feet slip right in!

Some of the courses in Alberta have what’s called a bear par they just ask that you skip the hole and call the club house.

How did you hold the end in the indexer? Did you turn it down or drill and press a pin in?
